The vids succeeded in making me remember what I liked about a lot of songs/groups that had become a bit tired for me, and some just reminded how much I liked certain songs, like this one... -M Yep, I like some of these, too. It's as close as it gets to hearing it for the first time again. A very similar channel I like is Lost in Vegas. This one features two guys, so you get interplay between them. They also come from a primarily hip hop/R&B, etc, background, but have some familiarity with other genres, and they are charismatic. They got me out of a pretty jaded funk with music, too, so I appreciate them.

#46 - The Weald and the Wild - The Tillers
The Tillers are a folk/roots group that have toiled in relative obscurity for a number of years. This is the opener from their 2018 self-titled album. This song just echoes that old Scots-Irish folk feel with an updated sensibility.
Give them a listen if you're a fan of folk music.

#45 - Who Do You Love - Bo Diddly
There's almost nobody more infectiously fun than Bo Diddly. Particularly early in his career. And I think this is probably his most ambitious song. It certainly is lyrically. Musically it's particularly interesting for a Diddly song as it uses more of a shuffle beat than the typical "Diddly" beat. The interplay between Diddly's guitar and Jody Williams' lead is just brilliant.
There are a number of live videos of Diddly playing the song later in his career, but none of them compare to the incomparable sound of the studio version.

#44 - Lone Pine Hill - Justin Townes Earle
We obviously lost Justin Townes Earle far too soon last year. This is a great track off his debut album, "The Good Life" from 2008. It's from the perspective of a young Confederate soldier who simply wants to get back to his girl and his home in what is now West Virginia. Strong imagery and a plaintive sound for a young songwriter.
"Cause I ain't never known a man that's ever owned another Ain't never owned nothin' of my own And after 4 long years I just can't tell you What the hell I've been fighting for..."

#43 - We Planned to Have It All - Zephaniah OHora
In my mind the stand-out track on OHora's newest album. This could 100% have come off a Hag album from the late 70s, complete with saxaphone. This is totally a second single, the love song to follow up the mid-tempo honky-tonk song.
OHora can clearly do it all.

#42 - Rollin' With the Flow - Charlie Rich
This was the title track off Rich's 1977 album. It was his eighth Number One country hit and crossed over to the Adult Contemporary chart and almost hit the Hot 100 (#101).
This is vintage Billy Sherrill era Rich. Rich laments growing older and still wanting to act young while his friends are moving in to later life pursuits.
I simply can't find a live version of this.

I'm not a huge fan of Electronica but I was pretty bumbed to hear that Daft Punk was calling it quits.

#41 - Wait So Long - Trampled By Turtles
I discovered Trampled by Turtles on a long-gone streaming platform called turntable.fm. I'm a moderate bluegrass fan and a slightly moderate newgrass fan, but I do enjoy the Turtles and this song is a big reason.
A fiddle, a banjo and a mandolin were, in fact, harmed in the making of the video.

Since the RIP thread is still locked I'll have to express my sadness at the demise of Daft Punk here:

Since the RIP thread is still locked I'll have to express my sadness at the demise of Daft Punk here: It's funny we both picked the same song, I almost went with Da Funk, or Robot Rock both are fantastic.

It's always disappointing when a well-liked musical act calls it quits, but in the case of Daft Punk, at least you know it's not like they didn't have a chance to achieve their potential.

At least Daft Punk didn't overstay their welcome and start to release sucky music. Better to quit when you're still at the top of your game.

They kind of started that of late with a whole lot of collaborations with pop artists, but although not as good as their solo stuff even those were better than most in terms of crossovers.

#40 - Goodnight Hollywood - Jamestown Revival
This feels like an algorithm pick. It's a perfectly okay song by a group on the pop side of Americana. But it's not something that I would tend to go out of my way to listen too enough to hit this high without it showing up multiple times in playlists generated by Spotify.
