Your typical Kitsuné story: self-contained, light, and lots of fun I loved that the three thugs were modeled after the three stooges.

This cover is one of my favorites. It is cool, though it once again makes me wonder how Stan decides which animals are animals and which are people.

This cover is one of my favorites. It is cool, though it once again makes me wonder how Stan decides which animals are animals and which are people. this one required toads being animals for the sake of historical accuracy. the only time Stan ever employs lower animals that aren't tokage, it's to maintain historical accuracy. in this case, "tokage oil" would have felt almost blasphemous. what would be the point of all that attention to historical accuracy of the very basis is corrupted?

Oh, I have no doubts about it fitting in historically it's just something I often wonder. We see lots of cats, dogs, and rabbits as people, there's a panda family, a fox or two, goats and bats and even as snake as people but fish are fish, birds are birds, horses are horses and turtles are turtles and I've always wondered how those choices get made.

Re-reading it, I noticed a small error: on page 2, Kitsuné pulls off her right sleeve but then cuts her left arm in the following panel!
