Ahead of this year's Toy Fair, Mattel has released a first look at the toys based on the upcoming WW movie via Entertainment Weekly... EWall appear to be 11 or 12 inch figures... WW Deluxe (MSRP $19.99) gold training outfit w/bow (MSRP $19.99) true to scale fashion figurine (MSRP $14.99) blue evening gown w/concealable sword 12 inch figure w/armored horse (msrp $29.99) Queen Hippolyta w/armored horse (MSRP $29.99) Diana & Steve 2 pack (MSRP $26.99) plus role play toys of the sword, dart shooting bow, and tiara/bracelets retailing b/w $9.99 and $19.99 I think some of those figures look really good and I am leaning towards picking up some of them (the two mounted figures, the 2 pack and the deluxe most likely). -M

Of all the toys that I seen here - the Wonder Woman with the Black Horse is only one that I would buy ...

I love the focus on young girls here with these figures.

Grumble, outrage, "Real Fans", grumble, grumble, "girls don't read comics", misogynist statement, grumble "Real Fans" grumble "Kids don't understand the character".
Channeling the internet nerd response.

Channeling the internet nerd response. I think it's the gatekeepers who need to be locked up or locked out myself, but then I have been told so many times I am not a real fan by "comic book lifers & purists" whose parents were wearing diapers when I started reading comics it just makes me laugh now. -M

Guy thought it was horrible that kids liked a Batman that wasn't Kewl and edgy. They weren't "Real Fans."

Wow these are all great! They are very Barbie looking. They're not for me but that's ok I'm not the target demographic and that's just fine.

Why not some action figures for male audiences? These look like DC partnered with Barbie.

They remind me, in a good way, of the Mego stuff I had as a kid before Star Wars and it's 3 3/4 inch scale became the norm and miniaturized toys beyond belief. Larger scale GI Joe, Big Jim, Mego, etc. were all "boys toys" even though some had changeable clothes and rooted hair. Steve Trevor looks like a modern day Big Jim style figure. The Diana figures look much better than any of the female Mego heroines did and actually look like they could stand up for play. Boys could easily play with these as well as girls. Big Jim... Mego Wonder Woman... Mego Invisible Girl... Mego Conan... so large size and changeable clothes do not mean it's not a boys toy or an action figure. That was actually the norm in toys, especially comic oriented toys for much of the Silver and Bronze Age, i's only modern toys that cater to boys who are used to playing with undersized things and are afraid of their action figures being mistaken for dolls. -M

I've heard rumblings these might be hitting the shelves already. If anyone spies them in the wild, let me know who's already carrying them.
