Not a classic villain by any means, but if we are going strictly by garb, I have always been partial to the pumpkin head look and so I present Jack O'Lantern... with a shout out to his cousin from Dreamland Merv Pumkinhead. Hey don't judge just because I am trying to find this Imaginext blind bag figure... I mean pumpkins and gorillas are all you need for a quality rouges gallery right? I mean, at least I didn't pick the Gibbon... -M

Partial to Shocker, Mysterio, Electro, Rhino, Tarantula and Morbius. All the original designs of course! And for the Mobster design: King Pin, Hammerhead and Tombstone were always stylish in their suits.

I have to agree. Mysterio is in a class all to himself. Face in a fishbowl, nipples that look like eyes. Frightening Those are not "eyes" or "nipples", they are closures; a.k.a., clasps. 😸 I love this one. He's a master illusionist and has hoodwinked you into seeing clasps. Trust me

Those eyes/clasps also contained the devices that jammed Our Hero's spider-sense (at least in #13; Stan forgot about Mysty's ability to do that in most later appearances).
Cei-U! I summon the multi-functionality!

This guy. I'm not sure exactly what it is about his costume I like so much, but Mysterio was the Spidey villain I drew most often as a kid. The strange fishbowl helmet, the eyes on the chest, the elaborate gloves, and the constant swirling mist surrounding him absolutely fascinated me… and still does! Cei-U! I summon the special effects genius! As a kid, not having actually read any comic featuring Mysterio, I thought his outfit was insanely cool and that he must be the greatest villain in the history of comicdom. I was quite disappointed to find out he was just a special effect guy... A cheat!!! Still, great design.

I feel the same way as you Raider and that's a bummer when I watched an early Spider-Man Cartoon that this character is nothing more a great special effect guy and it's still bothers me today. That's character is one of the most memorable as a kid and when I first watch that cartoon and learned more about him it's a letdown that did not want to endure of. I was sad to learned that he was nothing more a great special effect guy.

I agree...correct me if I am off but Mysterio has never really had his moment. A defining moment where he really challenged Parker. Kraven had his. The Green Goblin has had several. Doc Ock as well. But Mysterio...much like his magician tricks, I feel his character has also been cheated from never really getting a chance to shine.

I don't know, Mysty's schemes in both Amazing #24 and 67 were pretty clever. In the latter, he made Spidey believe he'd been shrunk to insect size (which made for some excellent Romita/Mooney visuals). I know both issues thrilled me as a kid.
Cei-U! I summon Quentin Beck's press agent!

Ditko's design sense in costuming is often overlooked, but it's a mark that the majority so far are his.
And for me: Mysterio, Shocker (love that quilted look that dampened the vibrations from his wristbands!) and Vulture (both original and the second guy)

I summon Quentin Beck's press agent! #66 and 67 were good, I will give you that. But I hardly put that in the same realm as other villains who have some major storylines. I also feel like Beck's back story and character have never been explored in great detail. He appears during the 70's for two brief stints, rarely in the 80's if memory serves me until McFarlane brings him into the fold and he is part of the Sinister Six revival. As for recently, I would not have any idea...

Here seems to be a good place for this. In the post today was my new Punisher hoodie: Incredibly, it combines two of my favorite things, The Punisher and the album art for Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures. Why? I guess they got my letter.

Mysterio is probably my favorite villain design period. I don't mind that his powers are only special effects, in fact I think that makes him more interesting. I just wish he hadn't been written as a "loser." (Was he always, or was that a more modern treatment?) Though it did make for a great Daredevil story later on.
