Oh Man, I'm totally loss of words today seeing two great legends - Chuck Berry and Bernie Wrightson passed away together and I just find Bernie one of the greatest artist alive and his work in the Comic Book Industry will never, ever be forgotten. I'm so numb today and I just wanted to say this ... Thank You Bernie for all the work you have done!
You will be humbly missed!

I wasn't aware that he was battling cancer when he retired earlier this year.

This really sucks. His work on Swamp Thing is some of my all time favorite horror comics.

With the exception of Stan Lee, does anyone involved with comics live beyond 70?

With the exception of Stan Lee, does anyone involved with comics live beyond 70? Most do.

I'm a Bronze Ager and Bernie Wrightson was such a big part of that. For every dull little comic that was cancelled quickly, there was a Wrightson, a Kaluta, a Gulacy, etc, etc. Wrightson was something of his own. No one did moody better, which fit right into the world of horror. The Frankenstein pieces look like they were published with the original work and are just something to marvel at.
I did read about the cancer battle not too long ago; shame.

He was part of that generation of creators who came into the field because they loved comics. Not just a way to make a living, as many of the previous generation did (as hard working and great as many were)
