Truly i don't even try to fight the "kids" for the freebies. I go and delve into grabbing up all the cheap sale back issues i can grab. And then even most of that is limited to what is only several years old. But it does allow me to finding nearly whole/complete runs that might be interesting for pennies versus dollars Last year i scored with nearly complete runs of Nu52 Swamp Thing and Phantom Stranger and a lot of stand alone single issue specials of war and horror.

One kiddie book that I picked up at my very first FCBD was Owly. Such a charmingly cute book with absolutely no dialogue whatsoever

I feel that this years offerings are weak.

I'm disappointed at the DC offerings as I already have both issues. I will probably look for just TMNT PRELUDE TO DIMENSION X, DOCTOR WHO and STAR TREK TNG MIRROR BROKEN.

I generally order FCBD stuff from the smaller publishers for my 5 allowed through DCBS, then grab the mainstream stuff at an actual story if I can get to one

My seven and eight year old boys are drooling over the Loud House comic. I'll be very happy with Doctor Who.

Nothing super interesting here, Dark Horse usually puts out a few good ones but nothing this year. Oh, well, plenty for the kids to enjoy.

Trying to accumulate every single FCBD book is one of my many comic addictions. I think I found most of them today, but always cover my bases with an online order at MileHigh to get them all.

I visited two stores on Saturday. One of them had a limit of 3 per person, but the other store is one I've been going to for 25 years and he lets me have whatever I want.
Came back with:
Betty & Veronica #1: Not sure yet how I feel about "modern" takes on these characters, but the Adam Hughes cover sold me (not literally, since it was free.) It wasn't until I got home I realized he did the interiors as well, including the writing.
Doctor Who #1
Wonder Woman: Rebirth #1 (actually a reprint of #2)
X-Men: Battle of the Atom #1 (This doesn't say "Free Comic Day" anywhere on it, so I think they were just giving away the regular issue)
Uncanny X-Men (2013) #1 (same as above)
These three I picked up for my best friend's kid (5 yrs old):
Batman Adventures #1 DC Superhero Girls #1 Peanut Butter & Jeremy #4
Not sure she is into comics yet, but I'm trying!
