I come across so many posts on the board that make me want to read specific runs of comics. For one mere example, I was reading the new Wonder Man thread and now I really want to read West Coast Avengers. There are so many others though, and like all of us I'm dealing with limited funds and time to read. Can anyone relate? I think I'll start taking notes and perhaps come up with a plan of what I want to systematically purchase to read. It really seems I need a plan of attack for what to buy instead of randomly buying stuff. I'm sure the plan will change at times, but writing down my reading goals I think could be the way to go for me. I'm no fan of digital, so that's out.

Yeah, I have that problem too... I have tons of stuff I want to read/re-read, then I see something discussed here and I want that, too.
Never mind novels... never enough time.

I'm trying to concentrate on stuff I haven't read before, so that means mostly European comics and whatever new English-language stuff catches my eye, though I'm far behind on that. I haven't done any re-reading of comics for several years and it'll probably be some years more yet before I get around to it. But eventually I'll do something like Slam Bradley is doing with his reading of the Marvel Universe from the beginning, except I won't try to be exhaustive and read absolutely everything like Slam is.

I've been in a rut with my reading for the last few months. But I AM reading the new books and I read some old favorites when I get this way. I read Warp 1-6 from First comics this week.

I had a list that I would take with me to the LCS & fill in back issues. When collections came out I stopped. Now I do a list of collections on amazon for my family so they have an idea on what to get me. When I go to cons I always make a list to "hunt" down back issues that will probably never be in a collected edition.

I always have to push myself to stay on my reading target. I tend to go in waves where I will read a bunch of classic comics, then a bunch of new comics, then a bunch of novels. As much as I want to read a lot of the classics I see other post about, knowing that I have a finite amount of time, I just have to try and live through the reviews and not experience reading them for myself.

Well, I'm listening to the board's podcast covering the first half of Steve Englehart's run. As a result, I'm teetering on buying his entire run that a Marvel Essentials reprinted. It's bittersweet, as I'd far prefer to read it in color, preferably hardback. Someone once told me though I can't have everything I want. Feeling weak. Must buy it. Can't help myself. Somebody stop me!

Somebody stop me! This is the same thing I go through. I am a super fan his Batman work and all the great discussion makes me want to pick his Cap stuff (even though I am not much of a fan of the character).

Somebody stop me! Not sure exactly what issues it is, but there are a couple of old collections of those issues.. I grabbed 2 of them not too long ago on clearance for $3.99.. you might be able to scoff them cheap if you can find them
