So is Zero Hour worth reading? I have a few random issues, but not enough to get a grasp on what it was all about. Not really. It's your typical crossover faire. Some of the tie-in issues are good, but overall, pretty boilerplate mini.

Some of the tie-in issues are good, but overall, pretty boilerplate mini. At least Jurgens went somewhere with Zero Hour and had a better resolution than any of the 'Crisis' minis of the 90s/00s. I'd read Zero Hour over those any day of the week...

Whose the foxy gal with the gun? Contessa Valentina Allegro de Fontaine ("Val"), Fury's GF during the Steranko run. If you meant the Hex cover, I think it might be Madame .44 (I think it referred to the calibre of her guns, but you may have another theory), from the final few issues of All-Star Western in the late 50s/ early 60s.
