Personally, this saga occurred in the year 1985 and lasted nearly a year and that's when I started working full-time and I was very confused by the whole story and still is. If they made that movie whether in animated and/or using real people as actors/actresses - I'll past this one up in a respectful way.
So, my answer is No, Simple No is sufficient to me.

Too much set up, IMO. There's no Cosmic-ness in the DCU yet. I think Identity Crisis or even Legends would make more sense if they wanted to do an 'event' type movie

I think they'll be more likely to try it in the Arrowverse. I don't think superhero movies are going away, but I think the shared universe concept in films is on its last leg. When you are paying high priced actors who age and/or tire of their roles, it can only last so long. I think the success of Guardians of the Galaxy is going to inspire Marvel to move away from worrying about a shared, intersecting universe unless their Infinity Gauntlet film blows ticket sales out of the water, and if Justice League doesn't do well, I think that may be the end for DC's idea of a shared universe.

I agree with shaxper. It might work on a TV series but in a shared movie universe...NO.

I don't see why they would do COIE. The reason for it happening in the comics doesn't exist for the movies.

Personally, I think DC & Warner should stop trying to compete at Marvel's level and just unleash a full on 4th World movie saga. It's got everything the general public could want and is different enough from what Marvel Studios have been doing to stand out. Oh, I know, they'd butcher the hell out of it (like they have the characters, ever since Kirby left DC); but, you'd have something that could draw the Star Wars crowd and more casual filmgoers. Just imagine "The Pact" on the big screen...

I thought it was already vaguely hinted at within the Arrowverse. Season 1 of Flash had Thawne's supercomputer from the future contain info and images of the Flash vanishing at some later date amid some crisis (complete with photo of Flash beneath an angry red sky). In the movies though, no. Darkseid is a big enough concept/character to tackle, you really want to try for the Anti-Monitor too?

I just talked some friends at the Comic Book Store and they all think it would be a waste of resources to do this movie and because it is ancient history and most (75% of them) buyers will not see it.

I think DC are going to struggle to put over the 4th World to an audience beyond DC comics geeks - Darkseid will just look like a Darth Vader knock-off, and the whole hokey-named coterie of sidekicks (Desaad, Vermin Vunderbar, Glorious Godfrey etc) will just come across as ridiculous (which frankly, it did in the comics as well - I've never been a fan of the 4th world, or (no secret here) anything that Kirby wrote)

A Crisis style event might work better on the CW shows--and could result in Supergirl and Superman being on the same earth as the other shows --and my personal request would be to bring Robbie Amell back as Firestorm!
