I didn't notice a thread for this trailer so for those who haven't watched it yet.
I thought this looked decent enough and I'm looking forward to the premiere in 2018. The trailer made me think his powers might be technology based but it also looked like his daughter might be a metahuman. I read as of now this is not part of the Arrowverse and there are no plans of yet for it to be. I think thats unfortunate and hope that it will tie in to the other shows in some capacity eventually. Originally this series pilot was ordered by Fox but they passed on that script with CW using an entirely different script for this pilot so maybe there is hope.

Thanks Jesse for posting this and I'm looking forward seeing this show on CW and it's great to see a dynamic character like Black Lightning to appear on television.

Why would it not be part of the Arrowverse? That makes no sense! Not that I watch anyway, (I've tried... CW shows are just too.. CW-y)

The dramatic content looks good; but, the rest is that same murky shooting in every other series and it doesn't make me want to watch this other than maybe casually. I had hoped that when they had Supergirl in the bright light of day, they'd move away from this kind of cliched shooting; but, apparently not.
Still, watching that, I can't help but think of Sinbad...

The brightness of the logo on the front of the costume is distracting. I get what you mean when you say it is too CW-y.

The cast talk a bit about what we can expect this season in this vid. From what I've read they are going with more of a seasonal arc to develop the main villain instead of the villain of the week format.

Newest trailer gives us a glimpse of the series villain and honestly I'm excited for the series premiere on January 16.

So what did anyone think of the first episode? I thought it was pretty good. It did a decent job setting up the series. It also had a different viewpoint from the other CW/DCTV series. I like the angle that being Black Lightning caused his divorce as well as his motivation to protect his daughters.

I've missed the first 15 minutes of the show and I thought it was a decent first showing and has its moments. I liked the angle that he's trying to protect his family and the costume is pretty cool and I've think it is appropriate for the show itself. I need to watch another 3-4 shows in order to make a statement whether it is going to be a hit or a miss.

Best pilot for the CW DC shows to date.
Can’t wait to see the season unfold with all the little teases we got in the episode.

I enjoyed the series premiere but have been half disappointed with the following episodes. Some of it has been entertaining while some of it has not been great so say it kindly. Still I'm interested in the series villain and the oldest daughter developing powers and heroing up.

I've watched every episode so far. To be honest, I'm not sure how I feel about the show. It hasn't grabbed me like the other DC/CW shows have, but I'm still giving it a chance.

This show has been uneven for me so far but I thought episode 5 "And Then the Devil Brought the Plague: The Book of Green Light" was the strongest since the pilot.
