I'm curious how people choose to pronounce "Imgur". Is it Im-Jur? or Im-Grr?

I'm curious how people choose to pronounce "Imgur". Is it Im-Jur? or Im-Grr? Im-Jur sounds reasonable to me ... the Grr seems okay to me, but Jur sounds better!

Like PhotoBucket before, now Flickr is saying it's time to pony up. I don't want to. Then I realized, duh, I've been paying for iCloud for years and have more than enough room on that account. I'm looking to see if I can work that somehow.
Ok that's not working so I'm going to Canon Irista.
After I blast past the free 15 GB it's only $ 2.25/mo for 100 GB, which seems pretty reasonable to me.
Update : I'm not seeing how to get the BBCode

It's at least better than blocking them entirely, but it's still absurd. That watermark is designed to interfere with the middle of the picture. All this time later, I STILL get that an image hosting site has to pay the bills somehow, but offering a free service that people depend upon and then suddenly withdrawing that service with no warning, demanding a $300 (ransom) fee be paid to get it back, is completely unethical, and it should be unlawful as well. I don't know what I'll do if imgur ever tries the same stunt. Fortunately, it doesn't seem to have worked well for photobucket, so hopefully no one will follow suit.

So, Tinypic have just announced that they'll be shutting their service at some point this year. There's no exact date, but they intimate that it'll be sooner rather than later. It's not really that much of a surprise, given that they are owned by Photobucket. Looks like I'll have to set up a new free image hosting account somewhere else...Imgur probably. Then I'll have to go through the arduous task of re-uploading all the images in my Star Wars and Tintin review threads and re-linking to them, which is a colossal pain in the arse. I'm wondering whether I can be bothered, in all honesty -- I mean, what's to stop Imgur shutting down next year or something?

That's partly why I never bothered to continue with my Captain Britain thread.

Yeah, I've come to the point where I now recognize that my review threads are impermanent. Hundreds upon hundreds of hours of work, and all it takes is a hasty move by imgur or proboards to knock them all out again. I've already had to restore all of my threads twice (once for CBR, once for photobucket) and I doubt I have the heart to do it a third time. I chose proboards for this community because they've been around for decades, have never sold out, and have never made any hasty moves, but nothing is guaranteed on the free web. If I knew how to set up and host a storage server for the CCF, that could prevent much of this, but I don't have the know-how, and I suspect it's expensive.

I remember way back circa 1999-2000 I had to send money-orders to some Eastern university to host images for my ebay auctions. Like curry flavored Lays potato chips, if something seems to good to last it usually won't. My photobucket images have been showing their watermark lately, I guess I was just back of the line in getting hit. It was nice while it lasted though.
When geocities closed down I was surprised later to find my geocities pages still existant on a copy called oocities!

So, Tinypic have just announced that they'll be shutting their service at some point this year. There's no exact date, but they intimate that it'll be sooner rather than later. So, Tinypic has now gone. Neither my Star Wars or Tintin review threads have any pictures displayed in them any more. I think I probably will undertake the arduous task of re-uploading the scans (which I have archieved) to another server. I was umm'ing and ahhh'ing about whether I could be bothered to do this, but seeing my review threads without any pitures in them -- save for the Tinypic "this image is no longer available" placeholder -- is a depressing sight. What a gigantic pain in the arse! EDIT: Well, I just fixed the very first post of my Star Wars thread. This is gonna be a looooonng process.
