Being helmed by the creator of the Fargo and Legion TV series (both great shows). Link here. I've always considered Doom the greatest villain to ever grace comics and it's a travesty what FOX has done to him in the craptastic FF films. Hopefully he's finally done justice this time. Get Gary Oldman on the phone NOW!!

I've been saying for years that Doom needs his own movie to develop him properly. I hate the way he was always shoehorned into the FF's origin. I'm curious how this will turn out.

After the failure of Electro in Amazing Spider-Man 2, I'm surprised Fox is going for another villain with electric powers! (kidding, kidding.)

I guess I need to take a gander to this development and this is going to be interesting to see this play out.

Doom is one of my favorite characters ever.
I hope hope hope but cringe thinking about how bad he's been up til now.
He's a complex, complicated character with a weird twisted sense of morals.
Could be really really good.

After their previous attempts with Doom, what could possibly go wrong?

I have little faith that Fox will get it right, but I've been saying for years that Doom needs his own movie to properly set up Latveria and his rather complex origin story. If they use the Lee/Kirby/Byrne stuff as a basis they'll be fine, as well as Triumph and Torment and what I've read of Books of Doom, but I fear they'll try to shoehorn in too much modern garbage...

I wonder how this would work under Fox's Fantastic Four contract. My understanding is that Fox has to periodically make an FF film or the film rights will revert back to Marvel. If a Doctor Doom movie is counted as a Fantastic Four movie, then part of the motivation may be to reset the clock while they figure out what they're doing. Do they try to use the same FF cast with a different director? Do they assemble a new cast? I'm sure Fox would like more time to consider their options given how poorly the last movie went.

Fingers crossed this is an entirely fresh start.

Which would mean Fox would have to change their exec's 'who we hire to do this' failed-strategies-of-the-past. In othr words, not hiring Gen Y dips#!ts like Trank merely because he's 'young', and maybe look at Darabont, who has succeeded at genre film adaptations ala The Mist, and can work within a budget and a deadline without throwing a tantrum and trashing an apartment. Then mis-creating what he was entrusted to do so badly he's replaced 1/2-way through. Due to his Gen Y whinging-arse claptrap.

Legion and Fargo were both really good, so I'm kinda optimistic, otoh Doom is not interesting to me unless he has somebody to play off.
