The story itself is a neat little one and done with a fun combination of action and political intrigue but the cover has me scratching my head a little as it's cool design has absolutely nothing to do with the story.

Stan does have to do the covers way in advance of the actual story, so I wonder if there was some intriguing aborted story in play here. or maybe it was just something cool Stan drew during downtime at a convention that he didn't want to see go to waste. it IS exceptionally striking.

Yeah, I was looking forward to this one just based on the cover, I thought he might be fighting some god or something. It was a neat story outside of that, though I think I may have enjoyed Stan's notes on it more than the story itself.

One of the few times in comicdom when a cover is too good to the point that it's a detriment to the story within.

Could that human be Lord Hikiji?
