Looking at the discussion between Stan and Sergio in Sketch Book #3 I got to thinking about animals I'd like to see cross blades with Usagi. Sergio's choice of a Skunk was pretty funny but I thought what about an Armadillo or a Crocodile? Both are naturally armored so I think they'd make for cool looking samurai.
What kinds of animals would everyone else like to see?

I would love a platypus, because it would look all cute and adorable but would be venomous and dangerous below the surface.

Stan's sticking to mammals. We haven't seen deer, though.

Ah but in this case it is because he is a "toady", so Stan wouldn't lose the pun

Lord Hebi is a decidedly not-mammal snake.

Lord Hebi is a decidedly not-mammal snake. He's another weird one, like his Master Lord Hikiji who was clearly human, Hebi is much less anthropomorphized than all the other characters. I mean, it's hard to do that because he sort of stops being a snake at the point where you give him hands and feet but at the same time he sort of sticks out as an oddball in Usagi's world.

Geladas. With their magnificent mane and top-heavy appearance, they look very regal; they almost look like they're wearing a crested helmet. Their chest mark is also pretty impressive. The first time I saw images of a bunch of them sitting around, they reminded me of the characters at the begining of Kurosawa's Ran.

Thinking it through that most animals within Usagi would tend to being indigenous to the area and the time how about doing a 7 Samurai team with a bear, a sable, a macaque (snow monkey), red crowned crane, a deer, a flying squirrel and a tuniki (like a raccoon) all together?
