Though it might sound a bit over the top, I've always considered Amazing Spider-Man #1-200 (plus attendant annuals and Amazing Fantasy #15) to be one of the greatest coming of age stories ever. I'm totally on board with this. It sort of ends when Ross Andru leaves, but then the Burglar returns for the issues leading up to #200 and sort of brings everything full circle.

Hoosier X, you should decide on Detective Comics, I consider you the expert! I know you have accumulated a very long run , but...what would you consider the cut-off issue for a classic run? Oh, thanks for the compliment! Detective Comics has gone through so many phases. I'll think about it while I'm reading through all the issues from #390 to the present. One short run that I love is Detective Comics #311 to #326. It includes the Catman story arc (#311, #318, #325) and one of my favorites alien adventure stories (#326) and then all sorts of wonderful random weird bananashenanigans.

Being the 90's, I'm only surprised that he doesn't have a gun. LOL I had to google it to see if this cover was for real. Sigh.
