Lot of awesome covers I could have gone for, but I decided to pick something slightly more obscure:

Lots to choose from (especially Andru and Bolland covers), but since {this probably doesn't qualify} , I'll go with a favorite:

I gotta say that I love Gene Colan, but I thought he was a terrible match for Wonder Woman. Not that I read Wonder Woman. But it meant that Colan wasn't going to be doing a book he was better suited for that I would read.

I gotta say that I love Gene Colan, but I thought he was a terrible match for Wonder Woman. Not that I read Wonder Woman. But it meant that Colan wasn't going to be doing a book he was better suited for that I would read. Especially at that point in his career. There was a time, mostly in the 60s, when Colan and superhero comics were not necessarily a mismatch. But increasingly throughthe 70s it seemed to me that he was losing interest in that genre - at least, whenever he did a fill-in issue of Daredevil or whatever, the result was not up to the standard of his work on Tomb of Dracula, or Dr. Strange, or Howard the Duck, or Night Force, or Nathaniel Dusk. I haven't read any of his DC superhero work from the 80s like Batman or WW, but the online samples I've seen it tend to confirm me in this opinion.
