All the covers are awesome so far. Aparo was great, too bad he never drew any Marvel books. I was having a hard enough time just finding an Aparo cover at all. I usually post something I own or am at least familiar with. I was surprised how many comics he's done interior art for but not the covers. Especially with all the Batman issues he's done. So I resorted to checking out Adventure Comics which I haven't read. Edit: Apparently, from submissions by posters Brave and the Bold would have been the series to find Batman Aparo covers. Another series I have read very little of. Well I guess you have to remedy that by reading some B&B!

All the covers are great! It's a great idea for a contest.

Oh boy, this is going to be a tough one. Lots of great covers and more to come I'd reckon. Off the beaten path Aparo but a darn good cover GCD credits Jonah Hex #76's cover to Andru and Rubinstein. Changed covers... put a new one up

I've always loved that special # 94 of that title with the mutants freaks

Knew I'd go with Phantom Stranger, but Phil Maurice took the first one i thought of. Sorry buddy. I think you acquitted yourself admirably.

I believe the word I'm looking for here is 'D'oh!'
I still associate Jim Aparo with the Phantom Stranger. And I'm not the only one. The first cover I put up is one of my all-time favorites, And I was so psyched that no one had used it yet that I rushed to post it, without stopping to realize that it wasn't, you know, actually BY Aparo.
And I owe icctrombone a drink for pointing it out so quickly.

It's because it is a Neal Adams cover.

This will be very hard to vote for the best cover since there are way too many good ones that would qualify. One of my favorite covers has not been posted yet... I am surprised, waiting to see if it shows up. 😀

Yet another Phantom Stranger cover (lucky for me, my favourite of them wasn't already taken):

Loving some of the more obscure Charlton covers. Aparo was great with super heroes but also with horror. His Spectre & Phantom Stranger covers were moody & ominous.

Man, I had four really great covers I couldn't pick from. Really went back and forth, and I'm still not sure I picked the right one, they are all great. If people don't post them before the contest is over, once voting is done I've got some real gems to share. This one is my favorite (so far). Mostly because those big treasury editions bring back so many great memories. I loved them!
