Really loved that first series of Runaways... but that trailer left me pretty cold. It just looks so generic, somehow - it could be an excerpt from Gifted or AoS or something, rather than something unique

Last night I tried to watch Runaways on HULU. And It's official. Not surprisingly, I am just too damn old to enjoy any show that focuses on teens. It's a shame because I really enjoyed Vaughn's Runaways and was hoping that after hearing all the buzz I could enjoy this show too. But like every other show with teens I just find the characters insufferable and not likeable. Has anyone over age 40 watched Runaways or Gifted for that matter and actually liked it? |

I got about 5 minutes into episode 1 and gave up. It wasn't that it was bad, just wasn't for me, at that time. I will give it another go, but I do have a similar feeling to you about this and Gifted.

I was so turned off by the comic I haven't tried it yet. At some point, I'll do a 1 month Hulu free trial and watch it and Handmaids Tale with Mrs. 'Fire, but I'm not in any particular hurry.

Totally agree with you James.
I guess I'm old enough that Runaways, Teen Titans, etc just don't appeal to me any more.
The exception is LSH, but maybe that's cause it's in the future ?

I'm talking about the new one written by Rainbow Rowell... it was way too decompressed, and I just didn't like her take on the characters at all. |
