Looks pretty good! Chadwick Boseman doesn't look like the T'Challa I grew up with, but he really made the role his own in Civil War... It's easy to root for him. The trailer looks promising, and I hope the background music ("the revolution will not be televised") means we'll get to see Killmonger push his revolutionary agenda and not just be the bad guy who wants to replace the rightful king.(I assume the bad uy is Killmonger... he's the most charismatic of T'Challa's enemies).

I don't know what it is, but I'm just not engaged with this, or the previous trailer. Maybe it's because (other than the Don McGregor run), I've always seen the Panther as a bit of a "meh" character? On the face of it, it's an exciting trailer, with lots of interesting stuff happening, but I've just not feeling it

It's Killmonger; he was named as such in the Entertainment Weekly feature, prior to the San Diego CC. Looks interesting. I wondered how they were going to tackle Wakanda. Looks promising and hints at some depth to the story; though I still long for less CGI and more practical effects and stunts. Alas, I think those days are long past. I just hope they don't overdo the tech angle, with T'Challa. The Black Panther was always physical, without high-tech weapons. I suspect this will probably propel the Black Panther into even more of a cultural icon role, especially in marketing to the African American community. He and Luke Cage have always been popular, though Conan was even more popular with the Bronze Age African-American comics demographic. I have a feeling we will see a lot of imagery and clothing hit the market, beyond even the normal Disney/Marvel standards.

I wonder if Black Panther is going to make a big jump like Iron Man did for the casual person that maybe knows just a little bit about comic books. Because before 2008, Iron Man really was more of a backseat character for Marvel. Now he's at least on the same level as Spider Man if he hasn't overtaken him already as the the main mascot for the company. Then again, Ant Man didn't make that big of a jump when his movie came out. Part of it I think was just Robert Downey Jr. being a perfect match for the role of Tony Stark.

Well, I don't think Ant-Man was marketed as a big deal and the film is more of a caper, played a bit more for comedy. Also, Iron Man was new, with Downey playing the personality broadly. I liked Ant-Man alot; but, it is more subdued. Plus, Iron Man started the juggernaut, while Ant-Man was "riding the coattails."

So what does Captain America have on Black Panther now? I mean he has an entire suit made of Vibranium.

Suprised no-one had already posted this: 2nd BP trailer. Looks much better than the first one, IMHO. I've watched a bunch of reaction videos of this on Youtube and the reaction is wildly positive in pretty much all of them

So looking forward to this movie. They have taken what Lee/Kirby started off with and exploded to a whole new level. This shows Panther as intelligent, powerful, regal and way cooler than the comic books ever attempted. This will have layers and depths to it demanding re-watching several times to catch all that is occurring on screen. Boseman gives T'Challa a grace and elegance as a foreign power to be reckoned with!

@simongarth & brutalis ... You both are correct on all counts and this might be one of the best Marvel films ever made. I'm more encouraged seeing the 2nd trailer than the 1st. Thanks for posting it Simon Garth.

Aren't those two trailers the same?
Anyway, I agree about the movie looking great. The old comic-book fan in me doesn't quite like how Marvel completely retconned Wakanda in the last decade, but I admit that the way it is shown here is awesome. It's certainly cool enough to draw in the people who may have no idea who T'Challa is.

I think someone missed this thread with the trailer and started another and they got merged, so yes both the same trailer. There was a new international trailer that dropped yesterday though, but I haven't seen it yet. -M
