I have trouble thinking of stuff that wasn't new(ish) when I read it that I was disappointed by, but...
Anything Ditko drew for mainstream comics in the '70s or later, and
Walt Simonson's Thor. I had recently read Simonson's Manhunter and said "Wow, this is the best art!" Thor didn't look like Manhunter so I was immediately turned off.
