I was going through my old 1990s comic books recently and noticed some had the story arc of Over the Edge mostly with Icredible Hulk and Daredevil.
So exactly what was Over the Edge about anyway?

I can't add much, but I do know The Punisher was caught up in it too. He had been brainwashed into believing that Nick Fury had either masterminded or been a part of the murder of Castle's family and went on a rampage to kill Fury. He succeeded (until Fury was eventually brought back) and Castle was executed. However, in The Punisher's next series, we learn that his execution was faked and that Castle was being recruited to work as the head of one mob family so as to better wipe out (or bring peace to) the others.

Marvel in the mid 90's divided the editorial houses into separate imprints. One of them was The Edge, where the characters were darker and grittier, and featured Daredevil, Punisher, Elektra, the Hulk, Dr Strange, Black Panther and Ghost Rider. Over the Edge was a 10 issue anthology that had all of these characters. The line and title died when Onslaught and Heroes Reborn came out.

I think he's asking about the crossover event that ran through that line through, not the 99 cent anthology book.
The event started in the chromium covered bookend one-shot called Double Edge Alpha, ran through DD #344, Doc Strange Sorcerer Supreme #81, Ghost Rider #65, Hulk #433 and ended in the chromium covered bookend one-shot called Double Edge Omega.
The basic plot revolves around the Punisher being brainwashed to kill Nick Fury and the hijinks that ensue.

urrutiap, hondobrode is right on the nose and I was disheartened when Onslaught & Heroes Reborn came out and this 10 issues series died on me and I didn't bother completing this series ... had issues 4 to 8 and was in the process of finding the rest of the issues and heard that it was finished after #10 around mid-90's and I was disappointed that they stopped doing this. Good stories, nice art, and dynamic covers that hondobrode posted here. It's was good mini-series and I wished it was a regular series and loved the heroes in these books and everyone was a favorite of mine. Good Books and full of Excitement and Drama of which I can only remember. I read these 10 books once and seeing the covers here jarred my memory banks.

I get the Daredevil characters being in here, as well as supernaturals Dr Strange and Ghost Rider, but it felt weird having the Hulk in this line up.

The Over the Edge story arc that I am talking about is the shorter one that takes place in Incredible Hulk 433 and in the original regular Daredevil comic book.
At the time back then i didnt really pay attention to what was going on in that story arc since I missed out on how it first started.

Since Im still talking about the short Over the Edge story arc that went on in Incredible Hulk mostly, wasnt there like the funeral for either Punisher and Nick Fury but one of them pretty much faked their death in the next issue of Incredible Hulk anyway?

At the time back then i didnt really pay attention to what was going on in that story arc since I missed out on how it first started. The full story ran through these issues: and there was an epilogue of sorts in Hulk #434. Punisher supposedly died in the story, but it was revealed he faked his death when his new series (I think the one written by John Ostrander) launched shortly after this). -M
