I'm pretty disappointed if Bendis is taking over either the Superman or Action Comics titles. I feel Rebirth for me has been the most readable either title has been in years and at least slightly helped to sort out the mess the character has been since the new 52 reboot.

Bleeding Cool has a piece on an interview Bendis did with Forbes outlining his plans at DC. A 6 issue weekly Man of Steel mini (a' la Byrne's revamp mini in the 80's) with a variety of artists (Ivan Reis, Even Doc Shaner, Jason Fabok, Kevin Maguire, Ryan Sook, Adam Hughes) starting in May, and then then in July writing a new Superman series starting at #1 and taking over Action Comics with #1001, both of which will now be monthly rather than twice a month. Superman will focus on superheroic adventures and Action on the daily life of Clark Kent and the supporting cast in Metropolis. He will do a story in Dc Nation with Jose Garcia Lopez setting up the Action run. DC will also be creating a new imprint-Jinxworld-for all his creator owned material, and will be making new editions of all of it available as well as continuing several of the series that are unfinished (Powers, UnitedStates of Murder Inc, etc.) -M

I have ZERO interest in Super-duper-man. But that's a nice line-up of artists.

If they are revamping/rebooting Superman again, I hope it puts Conner Kent/Superboy back in Superman's history. Not a fan of Bendis, but I will give this a chance.

Ugh! Just when I liked Superman again it will all be revamped/rebooted. He has stated that he is not rebooting Superman, and that he is following up on things that Tomasi and Jurgens have done during their runs. The only thing I know that he is changing is that he is bringing back the red trunks.

He says it will be stories that take place within the DCU using pre-existing and new characters, and that he will write some of the stories and some will be done by other writers with him overseeing.

Here's the full interview at ForbesYes, he's getting Jinxworld and another imprint to curate, Bleeding Cool didn't make that clear in their summary, but it's quite clear in the full interview at Forbes. I'm excited to see a lot of his creator-owned stuff continue with new material and new titles coming for that as well. Also curious about the line he will curate. The Supes stuff sounds like it might be interesting, and I will likely check it out via Hoopla or in trade at some point, but I am not likely to jump on monthly at this point. Maybe for the Man of Steel mini, but not likely. -M

I might use his run as a jumping on point to buy Superman again. Bendis has never disappointed me.

Good. I like Superman having a family.

Bendis was a guest on the podcast Word Balloon with John Siuntres and discusses leaving Marvel, going to DC, upcoming plans etc. It runs about 2 1/2 hours and I am only part way through it so far. -M

Even though I haven’t read much of his recent output, I’ve always enjoyed the Bendis interviews on Word Balloon.
