For my 2000th post I thought that I would try asking something different. Inspired from some other discussions in postings now let us explore your ideas on this:
If you could trade a group of villains from DC to Marvel and Marvel to DC who would you go with? There are some immediate ideas that jump to the forefront for me which would prove interesting and provide lots of story possibilities.
I will start off with just one big one to begin the discussions: Trading Batman villains for Spider-Man villains. The fun and games which would ensue are spectacular with excitement. How would Spidey handle just plain psycho Joker? Could Pete manage to puzzle out any of the Riddler's schemes? Can Penguin waddle through Spidey's webs? Would the Scarecrow provide a fearful fight for the Spider senses? Would Spidey and Catwoman be an item? The tragic villainy of Mr. Freeze giving the chills to J. Jonah Jameson? Man-Bat flying high in Manhattan and Killer Croc deep in the sewers.
The reverse holds true for Bats against the Spider villainy. How would Batman deal with someone like the Sandman? How does the craziness of the Goblin fare against the Bat Family. Let's see Batman fight an ongoing battle against the weight of the Kingpin as Gotham's premiere crime figure along with the likes of Hammerhead and Silvermane in the mix. How does a Bat battle an Octupus? What happens when Kraven goes city hunting at night? When the Vulture flies the skies of Gotham City can Batman fight as well in the rooftops as the streets? What does Batman do against someone like the Rhino stomping through the streets of Gotham? The Lizard crawls through the underground and sewers causing mayhem. Mysterio haunting the darkened corners of the city giving the Bat Family challenges. Is Oscorp a match for the Wayne Foundation in the daylight hours?
What are your ideas/suggestions and thoughts? I know there are lots to discuss...

I think I would like to see the avenger villains against the Justice League.

I think I would like to see the avenger villains against the Justice League. That would be fun. Superman up against Ultron. Kang pulling time whammies with past and future villains and heroes tossing them whilly nilly at the JLA. Interesting to see how the Avengers do up against the likes of Starro, Despero, the Key and others. How about Shaggy Man anyone?!?

I dunno, a lot of the characters have analogues in the other company. Not because anyone was copying (necessarily), but because creators are all drawing from the same cultural pool.
Catwoman/Black Cat Scarecrow/Mr. Fear (fought Spidey in MTU #92) Lizard/Croc Kang/Lord of Time? Sandman is sorta like Clayface
The Avengers went up against Starro in JLA/Avengers (the JLA had to face Terminus.)

One thing that I've always thought was weird was that there's not really a DC hero analog for Tony Stark.. I mean, sure there are a few armored heroes in the DCU, but that are very similar... Steel probably comes the closest, but he's both a relatively recent creation and has gone in another direction. Ted Kord was briefly, but that didn't last long.
Really, the best DC analog is.. Lex Luthor (especially in his Purple armor days). So let's send him to Marvel.. he would have been a fantastic foil on every level for 80s corporate Iron Man.

For the record, Marvel already have their own Scarecrow and Spidey faced off against him in Untold Tales of Spider-Man #22 and Sensational Spider-Man #29-31.

I want to see Kingpin, Bullseye, and Typhoid Mary in Gotham. I think it would be interesting to pit Batman against a foe like Wilson Fisk who not only is a physical match for Batman but also one who has a huge organization at his disposal that includes some Grade-A threats in the form of the two assassins.

Hulk Villains for Superman Villains ... I would love to see Doomsday square off the Incredible Hulk!
I would love to see this matchup!

It might be interesting to see The Invaders deal with the Injustice Society (Vandal Savage, Per Degaton, etc.), while the JSA is forced to combat both being published decades after the fact and a baffling misapprehension of the brilliant work of Frank Robbins!

Another trade off I can see is the Flash's Rogues Gallery with Iron Man's as both tend to be technology based villains for the most part. The Rogues would also translate well to fighting against Captain America i believe. Would pay good money to see the Trickster messing with ol' Shellhead and Gorilla Grodd would be a great brains/brawn fight for Stark. The Rogues stylish code of villainy would play off Cap perfectly until Captain Cold kills and then Cap will play kick the can with their butts!

I never would have put those pairings together! Now, that being said...I would like to see Wonder Woman's Silver Swan up against the X-Men's Storm. Or Cheetah...or better yet, Silver Swan AND Cheetah against Storm. And what about Mystique against Wonder Woman? Can you imagine Mystique in the Lasso of Truth? I would also like to see Warbird kick Lex Luthor's butt!

Though it wouldn't be mutually beneficial, there are some impressive heroes out there who can't really boast of an equally impressive Rogues Gallery. I enjoy Golden/Silver Age Green Arrow, but beyond Bull's-Eye and Merlyn I can't even name one of his recurring villains. In spite of being a Batman copycat who has his counterpart's mansion, millions, ward, Cave, car, plane, Signal, etc, the one thing Green Arrow never managed to swipe from Batman were his long list of foes. So, I'd rectify this by giving him Spider-Man's enemies while Spider-Man gets, I don't know, a bunch of gangsters in hats and ties.
J Jonah Jameson could serve as a sort of Sheriff of Nottingham proxy by doing all he can to besmirch Green Arrow's name in public giving Oliver Queen a sort of underdog feel a la Robin Hood. While I like the Green Goblin, I never really bought that Spider-Man had as much a connection to Norman Osborn as Marvel seemed to want us to believe. The Green Goblin was the father of someone Peter Parker had a connection to and not someone directly tied into the affairs of the Web-slinger. As a businessman, Norman Osborn would move in the same circles as Oliver Queen while Harry Osborn would be a fellow student of Roy Harper. Stealing from the rich and giving to the poor isn't really a superheroey thing to do, but a Green Arrow who steals from say, The Kingpin, to give back to his victims would make for interesting reading and, once again, play into the Robin Hood motif. Green Arrow also has a hunter's weaponry so let's see how he'd fare against Kraven.
