It depends on how significant the modifications are but theoretically yes, that would still count. Cei-U! I summon the wiggle room! What if the modification is just the color scheme? Did the "well-dressed Riddler" originate with the animated series? No. Frank Gorshin wore both the Golden Age tights-and-a-mask costume and a green and purple suit-and-tie outfit complete with hat, all covered with question marks, in the '60s Batman TV series. I prefer that look to the original, myself. Cei-U! I summon the sartorial splendor! |

Let's say I wanted to pick a costume from the villainous phase of the career of a character that has been both a hero and a villain. If a costume debuted when they were a villain, but was based off of/modified from a similar costume they wore a hero, does that still count? I'm in the opposite situation: there are two or three characters that started off as villains but became heroes pretty soon - and with no change to the costume or general look. I don't think I'll count them, even though at least two of them are among my all-time favourite character designs, because in each case the look is more associated with them as heroes than as their brief stint as villains. |
