Unfortunately running late to the game so didn't have time to ask the wise Cei-U! for a ruling on this one. But he may feel free to judge against me now. I have a backup ready for the #11 spot if this doesn't work. He's always the antagonist, but something of an anti-hero. He's just trying to keep the cosmic balance. But gets overzealous about it. 11. The In-Betweener by Jim StarlinI like cosmic beings. Always have. Snuck Eternity into my "Favorite heroes" list some years back. They mostly aren't quite either heroes or villains. They tend to fall somewhere... in-between. He's an agent of Chaos and Order. He contains all opposites. His outfit is a half-and-half look. I'll confess to being a big fan generally of half-and-half looks. Considered Malekith for the list. Will dedicate one more slot to such a look.

I have no issue with your citing In-Betweener, Chris, for the same reason I gave Living Tribunal the thumbs-up.
Cei-U! Besides, it *is* a great design!

11. The Un-Men created by Berni Wrightson (artist) and Len Wein (writer) These man-made abominations, the creations of Anton Arcane, might seem to violate the rules of our contest, but I convinced our esteemed moderator with my plea that while these mutated menaces all look different in visual design, it's the collective aesthetic that sells the concept: a motley assemblage of hideous experiments in the human form. Most memorable of the crew is most certainly Dr. Cranius, the disturbing "head on a hand", but seeing a mob of these things--naked, weirdly colored, haphazard, non-viable, awkward things that they are--leaves a truly haunting impression. (They even had their own series!)

11. Stallior of the Inhumans designed by artist Marie Severin. This one hits several buttons for me: for some reason, ever since I was a kid I've always thought centaurs looked really cool; then dressing him like a Roman gladiator makes Stallior even cooler; I also like his weapon, the big chain and mace, or whatever it's called. I'm cheating a bit on this pick , because I don't really see him as a villain, just someone who got caught on the wrong side of a civil war. Stallior and Leonus, another Severin Inhuman who almost made my list, would have their own books if I was in charge of things.

ArkonAlways liked this look and the whole concept behind the character: basically Arkon is a kind of Achilles or Conan character transplanted into the superhero universe, with a power-up to make him a match for even the most powerful of do-gooders. The design captures all of that in a simple but effective way. Love the helmet and his quiver of lightning bolts. Can I assume this is your Third Day pick posted in the wrong thread? Cei-U! I summon the tally sheet!

Late thoughts.
Very much dig The In-Betweener. Reminds me of Frank Gorshin.
The Un-Men is a great choice. I didn't think of them.
Stallior, while I can dig centaurs, I think he's a gelding. Or is that a eunuch?

Finally getting to participate, and doing so without looking at anyone else's list (so I'm sure I'm gonna forget some, and then slap my head and think, "HOW COULD I FORGET THAT COSTUME???"). my #11 choice: Electroa fairly simple outfit, that really stood out to me as a youngun, and still to me has one of the strongest designs of any of the Spidey villains (tho i really like the look of Rhino too, who just missed my top 12). it could be because the colors of Yellow and Green are just so striking together. or it could be that the 'bolts' on his face mask. . which could read as very, very stupid? just never read as anything other than "cool" to me.

I can't tell if Flame-haired Karla is a good design or if it's just that Nick Cardy was so good at drawing attractive women. Either way, great look.
I like the White Queen but every time I see Keith Pollard's artwork, no matter how good the inks are I always think, "Would've been better if Pollard had inked himself." (except for those times when he actually did ink it himself, of course).

Maybe, but he did solid work on FF and Thor.
