We've had our last 80-degree day this year unless something really unusual happens. This week the highs are around 70 and there are some showers but not steady rain yet.

Hurricane Michael -- Off of Florida Panhandle - Positioned to be a Category Four and the worst one in years possibly becoming the worst one in more than a hundred years. I have a friend of mine that lives in Panama City and he already boarded his house up and left to Dallas Texas and that's where his wife Parents live. His Parents lived in Tacoma are quite nervous about it.

Today was the first day I had frost on the windshield of my car.
Yesterday we turned on the heat in the house for the first time.
Most of the leaves are off the maple tree.
Winter is coming.

Pittsburgh woke up to a wintry mix of snow and freezing rain this morning, with expected high temp of 32 today and more snow throughout the day.
Not normal around here in late November, but certainly something that happens every now and then.

Finally some relief from the heat here in Central Florida. High of 68 today and it's supposed to get down to 39° tonight! It will be back into the 80's this weekend, though.

Since Thanksgiving day lots of good cloud cover helping to keep the Valley here warm during the day up in the high 70's (77-79) with a bit of chill at night/early morning around 45-50. Spectacular weather which is always a help after the miserable summer heat.

Record Snowfall in Charlotte, Greensboro, Raleigh, and back East as Winter Storm Diego -- hitting hard. 1,000 flights in Charlotte are cancelled from now to Sunday. North Carolina, Virginia, and spots of neighboring states are getting records amounts of snow, freezing rain, ice, and whatnot.
Pretty nasty weather back there ... I have a friend who took a week off from work and headed to his cabin that has two generators -- his family has to spend a week without internet and planning on doing cross-country skiing to fill in the time.

Yeah, I think we're currently up to 6 inches of snow in my neck of the woods around the NC/VA state line and it's still snowing as of this moment. Projected forecast could put my area around the 10 inch mark before all is said and done. That's not counting any potential sleet/freezing rain that may follow as slightly warmer air works it's way northward through the state.
I didn't even try to go to work this morning for it would look like a losing battle in getting there, not to mention getting back home.

Yeah, I think we're currently up to 6 inches of snow in my neck of the woods around the NC/VA state line I have family in that area! They live right off US 15 a few miles north of the border. I'll give them a call tomorrow and see how they're doing with the snow.

It’s minus 26 this morning (that’s minus 14 in the US) and since my wife has the day off and the bicycle is stored for the winter, I’ll be walking to work. Seven kilometers of brisk winter air! I’ll probably never have been so glad to get to the office!!!

I hope you make some hot to drink when arriving at the office!

But I didn't need it after all: the onion strategy (layers and layers and layers of clothes) worked so well that I was actually toasty when I reached the office. Now the forecast is for increasingly warmer temperatures as we head into the weekend, with the possibility of rain. Those weather patterns are crazy.
