Someone who didn't vote for either of the tied covers?

I am more often surprised by the winner than not.

It's too bad that the obvious covers win more often than not. Hal's cover wasn't an obvious choice but Reps cover was. But people like what they like.

But my I was thinking one of the Golden Age covers would take it. I personally didn't find Hal's Kubert cover as dynamic or well executed as so many others he has done. But then again, people vote for covers for many reasons beyond just the artistic value. Not complaining about this, these surprises keep it interesting. Anyway it's more about seeing all the covers than who wins for me. |
