Phil Maurice (although I am stumped to which character in The Strange Case of Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde the redhead in fishnets is supposed to represent ). In the 1941 movie version, Hyde pursues a young woman of the streets --beg pardon, barmaid -- played by Ingrid Bergman. The earlier version (1931), pre-Hays Code, depicted a prostitute whom Hyde fancied and terrorized. Have to spice up your cover (and your movie) somehow! |
