Congrats Farrar, that cover was a great find. I am surprised no one threw any shade my way for the Spider-Man cover. It probably speaks to the number of great covers this go around. Here is the other cover I was thinking about.  |

Yep, a terrific and well-deserved win for Farrar. Congrats! Be sure to watch for me on Last Chance Covers, where I'll try to fight my way back in to the competition.  (That's a Top Chef reference, for those not in the know.) |

Thanks everyone, especially to those who voted for the cover. I'd come across that Strange Tales cover months ago online and was blown away. As I may have mentioned I love those 1950s Atlas covers by Burgos and Bill Everett. Btw the gcd makes an educated guess that the Strange Tales #52 cover was colored by "Stan Goldberg ?". Stan G has said "in the 1950s [for Stan Lee]...I always did the covers because they were the most important thing" (Alter Ego 18, p. 16). Thanks again  ...new contest up shortly. |
