The Emerald City Comic Con is less than four short weeks away, which means it's time to announce the details of our annual CBR/CCF NW get-together. Once again this year, we aren't doing anything formal but a bunch of us are getting together for dinner Saturday, March 3, 2018at Huckleberry Square Restaurant14423 Ambaum Blvd SW Burien, WA (206) 246-7006 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PMWe haven’t had a lot of luck lately finding a venue close to the Seattle Convention Center that meets our needs since they closed our beloved Hurricane Cafe, so we decided to look farther afield. Greg and Julie Hatcher recommended Huckleberry’s where, as you can see from the menu, the food is comparable in quality and price (Saturday is prime rib night, I’m told), the atmosphere is more laid back than our past few choices and, yes, there’s a bar! Rob Allen and yours truly will once again be your jovial hosts and, as always, significant others, spouses and well-behaved children are more than welcome. So come join us for some good eats, geek cameraderie and post-convention frivolity. You'll be glad you did. Cei-U! I summon the par-tay! |

The location is great and sorry that I can't make it because the preceding day will be a busy one for me getting a house built and on that day Saturday, I have to run a club of more than 200 people and on that day we are having an all day meeting with Dinner being served at 5:30 and there going to be questions and answers after dinner and sorry that I can't make it.
March 2nd and 3rd are very busy days and I'm sorry that I can't come at all.

I really want to go to a comic con some day, never been to one before but they look fun.
Are they expensive places? Not for tickets but once inside, need pay for seeing things or just if you want to buy merchandise?

Not for tickets but once inside, need pay for seeing things or just if you want to buy merchandise? Depends. It's usually free to walk around the dealers room and artist's alley. Most have free panels too but some have panels that are workshops which you have to pay for, some have gaming events with entry fees, etc. some celebrity meet and greets have to be paid for, etc. but typically once you pay your entry fee you can find lots to do without spending money if you don' want to. But hunting down stuff is part of the thrill for me, so I end up spending money anyways (which is why I prefer cons with affordable entry prices). -M |

I know London has a convention but not lot of info out yet that I can find. Managed to find some little price info... seems like I need to save a lot lol Some photos/autographs can be charged £40/$55?+ depending on who you want it from. |
