Recently I purchased NTT Volumes 1-7 (Wolfman /Perez Run) and have been enjoying rereading these stories that I originally read when they came out when I was about 14 years old. These are bringing back so many memories for me. This was the first comic I read that had violence that I never saw before, topics that I never read before and a sexuality that at 14 was kind of blowing my mind. Specifically Starfire. My favorite run was from issues 28-34. To me this was both Wolfman and Perez at the top of their craft. It had Terra, and Brotherhood of Evil( my favorite villainous group ) and Brother Blood in a perfect 6 issue span. For anyone else who read this comic what was your favorite run?

I'll be very surprised if anyone doesn't choose The Judas Contract. I'm a huge Titans fan (as I hope my review thread proves), but it's really the characters that are appealing throughout the classic run. The Judas Contrast and the issues immediately prior are really the only ones I ever think back upon with particular fondness.

I enjoyed the entire series up until the issues in the baxter series, when it pretty much derails. The earlier stories with Trigon, search for the Doom Patrol, Wonder Girl and Hyperion, Frances Kane, Brother Blood, the Judas Contract--those are all good. I lost interest after Perez left and Barreto (not that he wasn't a capable artist, but his style didn't quite carry on with Perez's dynamic) came on board. Wolfman seemed to have run out of ideas later in the run as well....but the era from 1980-1984 or so, is really good.

Mine would be the following ... 1) New Teen Titans - #1 to #5 ... fond memories reading it! 2) New Teen Titans - #37 to #40 3) New Teen Titans - #41 to #50 Honorable MentionThe Judas Contract mentioned by shaxper ... for what heard it is a great run and I've not read it yet and planning on later this year - I'm borrowing a copy from a friend of mine and haven't watched the movie yet ... I'm going to read the book first then watch the movie 2nd.

The whole Wolfman/Perez run is great. #1 was great, issues 6-9 were great, 14-15, 19-21, 23-26, 38-47, and 50 were all especially fantastic. I thought the Baxter series started off very strongly, too, the first 5 issues, anyway.

NTT 1-8: Intro, Deathstroke, Trigon, Fatal Five, A Day in the Lives...-meeting the new team, the best villain to come along in years, a terrifying evil, a classic villain team, character stories.
13-15: Doom Patrol-Knew only of them in name, nice tribute to them and their legacy
21-25, Annual 1: Brother Blood, Blackfire-powerful villain, space opera epic to wrap up Starfire's background tale.
26-27: Runaways-human story
34, Annual 2: Deathstroke, Vigilante-Deathstroke is back, Adrian Chase targeted and becomes Vigilante. Also a peek at the Monitor.
38-44, Annual 3: Who is Donna Troy, Brother Blood, Judas Contract-The apex of the series, where it became a true classic.

The Judas Contrast and the issues immediately prior are really the only ones I ever think back upon with particular fondness. I liked the Judas Contract but it wasn't my favorite. I think the art had changed slightly and I wasn't a big fan of Jericho. I always liked the villains and guest stars that didn't get as much play as Terminator and Terra did by that point.

Agreeing with most of the other here: the entire Wolfman/Perez run was incredible. DC doing Marvel style and it was amazing (probably since Marv/George were primarily Marvel trained) and the Titan's was the companion series for Cockrum/Byrne X-Men at DC during this time.

I don't know the issue numbers by heart but "The Judas Contract" is definitely up there. I remember being very affected by Terra's betrayal of Changeling, and his reaction. I think I was the same age (14) when that came out. It was definitely a more mature book than most of DC's other output at the time (and a bit still more in the direct sales series), which no doubt was why it sold better and attracted Marvel fans. I'm getting the new editions of the omnibuses and looking forward to getting into them again.

I'll go with issues 13-15 which are the Doom Patrol issues. I honestly haven't read NTT since it came out. But I kind of remember those issues.

NTT was a great title at the time.
Agree that Ed Barreto was decent, but it just didn't have the same snap that Perez did.

1-50. Rarely has any other comic title (aside from Amazing Spider-Man) enjoyed such an exceptionally strong, long run right out of the gates.

Pretty much up the whole run up to the last 'Who is Donna Troy' is great. Besides Judas Contract (which still stands up as one of the best stories ever, IMO) the Brother Blood stuff is great, teh Trigon arc is great,.. really the only missteps, IMO, was when Wolfman started trying to add other characters in the mix (Kole first, then later Danny Chase).
I really liked Jericho... I know that's a bit of a minority opinion, though.

'Who is Donna Troy' run ... was very emotional to me because it's involved her death and Robin's investigation of her marriage to Terry Long and truly learn about her past. I've just remember this and really broke my heart. I just was in numb when DC Comics killed her character and my involvement with Teen Titans never, ever be the same after that. The Teen Titans book #50 was the marriage to Terry Long of which was a stunner; issues #50 to #54 - The Titans of Myth Storyline was one of Donna Troy most difficult and with that and the marriage of Terry Long ... and this issue created two teams Titan West and Titan East and that alone changed the The New Team Titans direction ... Issue #50 to #54 is the one of the most memorable issue that I read in my life.
