Vintage Kitchen JarsI missed these jars and I was wondering if your own Mothers, Grandmothers, and Aunts, and even anyone else had a fondness for these things? At one time she used something like the yellow and light blue tops here ... My Mother used both types ... top and bottom pictures for storage for these various baking needs; and eventually prefer the ones pictured below because its made out of metal and store better for her. She loves these containers! They adds class to a kitchen those days!

Twister GameSpinner Board for Instructions for the Referee to tell the players what to do next. Game Box that came with the Spinner and the Mat below ... Floor Mat Fun Party Game in the 60s and its quite simple to play. When (Game Ref) someone says RIGHT FOOT on Red Circle you have to figure out a way to do it. And, LEFT FOOT on Yellow Circle, RIGHT HAND on Green Circle, and LEFT HAND on Blue Circle and so forth. I've played it occasionally at Birthday Parties in High School ... Loads of Fun back then !!! In College ... I played Yard Twister and that was a blast back then ... When, the party is over we used paint that can be easily washed off with water ... It's best when the grass hasn't been mowed yet and the paint is easier to remove.

We may have had something similar to the second set in your series of pictures, but I don't remember what they looked like, to be honest.

If these toys made a comeback, I might buy them again. Matt Mason was like the Holy grail of toys when I was six years old. Never heard of it. Looks cool.

Ben Cooper Superman Costume for KidsI had one when I was a kid and I pretty much wore it out for the first 3-4 years and countless sew jobs by my Mother until she decided to give it to a dear family that has three sons that are 3-5 years younger than me. For compensation for the loss of my Costume ... I was given this tee-shirt below and had that for 3 years until it was out-grown and again donate it to that same family that had my original costume. It has a mini-cape in the back of it. Kinda Cool! When, Superman ... The Movie came out and I got myself this Tee-Shirt in the early 80's and I had that for a decade until it's wore itself out. Now, I have this tee-shirt for the duration and I usually wear that in the Spring and Summer Months ...

Underoos
Got this one and the Batman set, at an age where I was probably getting too old for stuff like that (about 12), because I just wanted the T-shirts with the Superman and Batman chest symbols on them.

70's Crock-PotModel 3100 VersionVery Popular Model back then ... It's sold like hotcakes back then and every Housewife wanted one badly. My Mother used this for Beef Stew, Spaghetti and Meatballs, and Soups of all kinds ... My family had a lot of Soup back then especially during the Fall and Winter Seasons. We used both of them at the same time and they were very reliable kitchen app. back then and fell in love with it. I used them a lot too and I did cook one meal to the family a week because my Mom and Dad were busy on Thursdays because of work and my mother did some volunteer work for the community and my three older brothers did nothing because of their after school activities during their High School Years. I basically made Spaghetti and Meatballs and they were very easy thing to do, baked Sourdough Bread in the Oven, and made Tossed Green Salads as well. I made this dinner pretty much 50 to 75 percent of the time and took me 20 minutes to do this because in the morning ... My Mom and I slow cooked the Spaghetti and Meatballs in the morning and I did the Sourdough Bread and Tossed Salads in the afternoon and set the table as well. My older brothers did the clean-up and I didn't have to do a thing about it. I was a pretty good cook back then and I still enjoy cooking today ... I cook dinner myself about 50 percent of the time at Home and the other 50 percent going out for Dinner!

First Retro Bicycle Schwinn Jaguar Cruiser 1969 to 1973 I started riding a bike in 1969 and took me pretty much the whole summer for me to learn how to because of my bad balance and coordination. I had a hand me down Schwinn Jaguar Cruiser that my Dad and one of my older brother took turns riding it until my brother brought one himself and turn over the bike for my Dad in 1967. My Dad had that bike for two years and when I started learning how to ride a bike he turned over this bike for me in the Spring of 1969 and I had a rough school year and decided to wait until Summer to learn how to. So, I had my neighbor permission to use their driveway to learn how to ride a bike and they gave me everyday at 10am to 11am to do so because they are out playing both bridge and golf and that's was pretty much the time that I had to learn so. My Dad helped me in the afternoon about 2 days a week - namely Wednesdays and Fridays and I pretty much wore out that BIKE until my birthday in 1973 of which he reconditioned it and the bike was getting to small for me to ride on the Jaguar Cruiser shown here was a child version of it and when 1972-73 rolled along - I was borrowing my Dad's bike and this one was sitting in storage not doing anything except collecting dust. Right around, Spring of 1973 ... my Dad had a bonus from work and he decided to go out and brought me a new bike and that was totally unexpected for him to do so. I will share that bike in my next post.

Second Retro Bicycle Schwinn Corvette Cruiser 1973 to 1989Right around, Spring of 1973 ... my Dad had a bonus from work and he decided to go out and brought me a new bike and that was totally unexpected for him to do so. It was a Schwinn Corvette Cruiser - Men's Bike and it was a beauty of a bike and it's was rugged, made well, had a great bike carrier for books and ride well. I used this bike going to the local library and had two bike locked chains so no one can't steal it and never lost that bike for 16 years! I kept great care of it and bought 4 complete set of tires, numerous brake pads, and repaired the chain twice those years and I've even joined a Boeing Bike Club for 4 years and in 1989 - my work assignment changed and I had to sell that bike to a Boeing Bike Club Member for undisclosed amount of cash and I had to because my Condo Place is running out of room for bike storage and decided to give it up. This was a beauty of a find by my Dad and he went out and brought one for himself and one for my Mom that she can join us on Bike Trips around our Community and had a blast doing that every other weekend during the Summer Months and she makes picnic lunches for us to eat at several local city parks. All our bikes were bright red and that's makes it simple for us to spot it and all that. Right Now, with my balance is no longer great and I stopped riding bikes in 1990's and from 1989 to 1994 ... I rented several Schwinn Bikes for family outings and when in the Spring of 1994 ... I had an accident falling off a bike and got several bad bruises and a cut in my right arm that requires 18 stitches to heal properly and decided that my Bike Riding Days are over. That's pretty sums up my Bike Days ...

Tandem BikesI rode these bikes occasionally in the 70's during my High School Years going across our state from Seattle to Spokane (279 miles) on a fund raising event that fight hunger around the world. I also did one from Seattle to Portland a couple of times (175 miles) when I was in Boy Scouts back in 1972 and again in 1975. It was also a fun raiser to fight family abuse and provide counseling for battered wives back then. It was three day event ... going down to Portland in one day, rest and that's includes a barbecue for all scouts in the 2nd day, and come back home on the 3rd day riding 350 miles in three days and my legs were sore on Monday and I was excused from PE that day from a permission from a medical doctor that told me to refrain from PE on Monday. These things are pretty cool to ride in and great for renting for dates. I did that a couple of times in College riding around Tacoma and Olympia that had great bike paths and it was fun to do when you on a double date with another couple and back then - they offer a half-price on rentals back then. My last time on a tandem bike was in 1994 of where I was involved in a charity event for work - involving Good Neighbor Fund for Boeing. I rode a tandem bike from Bellevue to Everett and later toured the Everett Plant and came back the same day and my legs were sore for two days and good thing that I took two days of vacation so that I can return to work on Thursday. I was working Tuesdays to Saturdays back then.

Earliest Gas Pumps that I can remember seeingLate 50's Texaco Gas Pump - There were a TEXACO GAS STATION eight blocks from home and I go there on my bike to get gas for my lawnmower. I used the Gas Pumps looking like this in this picture above you. Brought a quarter along and got 7 cents change back for filling up my gas can back then at half full. When, I went grocery shopping with my Mom back then, and when we needed gas for own car - we stopped at a Mobil Gas Station near by and they had 8 pumps looking like the one in our picture and I pump $4 worth of gasoline on a weekly basis for my Mom. This is late 50's and early 60's gas pump(s) My Mom always told me to get the Regular Gas and I always do ... Later on, in the late 60's Mobil left our area and got replaced by Chevron and Chevron became our Number One Gas Retailer from 1974 on. I remember this is the first Chevron Gas Pump that I saw in the mid 60's in San Francisco California on Vacation back in the early 70's. Chevron Gas Pumps
