I have a question so I can know if its not just this comic book shop that I go to once every few months
The old Marvel comics Transformers comic book series, are the old back issues really expensive everywhere else ranging from 14 bucks or higher just for one issue etc? A bit overpriced if you ask me. I can get an old single back issue or couple way cheaper off of that mycomicshop website.
So Im just wondering if everyone else's local comic book shops are like this where the old Marvel Comics Transforrmers is a bit spendy for each single back issue?

I remember my Store had a Transformer #1 that was valued at $11.00 for a single tear on the backside for and marked that price back in 1988. The Comic Series came out in 1984 ... I've believe and later on someone came in a brought it. I learned through a store owner a year later that he bought it so that he can complete this series.
That's all I know about it and for the record ... I didn't buy any Transformers Comics from Marvel.

Just a couple of months ago this year like in January, i was flipping through whatever there was for the old Marvel Transformers comic series in a comic book short box and prices for the single back issues are pretty spendy raning from 14 to 30 bucks and most of those issues never had anything shocking going on or anything I think.
Old G.I. Joe Marvel comic I can understand it can get a bit pricey but as for Marvel's old Transformers, it shocks and amazes me that any old single issue of Transformers costs the same price as 2 or 3 McDonal's Value meals up to 20 bucks yada yada.
Number 1 of Transformers sure I understand can be a bit expensive but any issue from issues 30 to whate4ver of Transformers, I dont get it why they have to be marked up expensive at any comic book shop.

A quick look on eBay has them reasonably priced.

Later int he run, the series had a much smaller print run, so the late issues are priced higher because of it. The early issues are priced based on high demand, the middle issues should be much cheaper, then the last 2-3 years of the series are usually more expensive because of the print runs. The same thing happened with Marvel's GI Joe series towards the end of its run.

Transformers' first four issues were pricier. But if didn't reach the ridiculous prices the eary GI Joe's comic books reached in the late 80's and eary 90's. I remember issue #2 reached something like $75.00 at one point in the late 80's and #26 & 27 were ridiculous too because it was the origin of Snake Eyes.

Well pretty much every old back issue of Transformers at the comic shop that I go to, theyre all expensive up to 20 bucks just for one single back issue each.
At least old issues of G.I. Joe are a little cheaper but still...

Joe are a little cheaper but still... I personally use Mycomicshop and 1/2 of Mile High Comics price as a barometer for prices... local stores beat to their own drum (the best deals are usually found in books they just haven't thought about in a long time), and ebay magnifies any little price bump by 10. Doing so, I find that the 1st issue is around the range you suggest, but after that through issue 45 or so they are all $5 or less per issue. the older ones do seems a bit scarce.. I suspect those would be best to find in person somewhere, where in a market or a store that doesn't thing they are that exciting, one might find them for cover or in a dollar bin, but online they'll probably be pricey
