Just announced today, Steven Spielberg next project will be a Blackhawk movie through Amblin entertainment. I am excited by this announcement. It's good to see DC and WB exploring some properties outside the Batman umbrella. -M

The whole reason DC launched the Evanier/Spiegle Blackhawk back in the early '80s was because Spielberg had optioned the characters. 35 years is one hell of a wait.

Let us hope it is WW2 Blackhawks. Or a historically set over the decades of Blackhawks involved in wars.

This is why I can't get excited, until an actual production is underway. Once bitten...... That previous deal was also the impetus for the fun William Rostler Blackhawk novel, which, among other things, gives a location for Blackhawk Island, a rationale for how they refit and resupply their aircraft (and why they use a plane passed over by the US Navy), and was filled with pulpy fun. If it does happen, I suspect it will be set solidly in WW2, based on Spielberg's history and interests.
