As part of their celebration of Superman's 80th anniversary, SyFy has a lot of Superman content over the past few days, including Mike Avila sitting down withJohnByrne to talk about Byrne's time on Superman...
some interesting stuff, but I think the most interesting was Byrne's final comment from the clip.

Video's blocked for non-US locations. The take away from the end of the interview is that it was a very unpleasant experience for him, and if he had to do it over, he wouldn't have taken the job.

I doubt it was what the interviewer was expecting to hear! He must have really burned some relational bridges in those days that he now rues.

Does he say anything about his infamous Barda + Superman story - or was that in a different series, not Superman?

Does he say anything about his infamous Barda + Superman story - or was that in a different series, not Superman? It was in Action, which was a team up book at the time and was at the same time he was doing Superman, but he doesn't mention it and Mike Avila doesn't ask about it. -M

From what I've gleaned lurking about his forum, Byrne continues to defend that story, his stance basically being "Barda & Superman made a porn if you believe they did, they didn't if you don't believe they did, so stopping b*tching, fanboys."
