Mera #3 (of 6): Written by Dan Abnett. Art by Lan Medina and Norm Rapmund.
As Orm is about to kill Mera he is confronted by his land dwelling family. Orm's wife & Tula convince Orm & Mera to set aside their conflict to help Aquaman & Atlantis. They agree to do this & leave together to ask for help from Mera's home - Xebel.
I actually am enjoying this title more than the main Aquaman title. I like the way Abnett has portrayed Orm & made him much more interesting. I also liked the interactions between all the characters in Orm's family (Erin & Tommy) with Mera & Tula. The art is decent but a bit bland.
7/10.

Titans Annual #2: Written by Dan Abnett. Pencils by Tom Grummett & Tom Derenick.
The conclusion of Titans Apart. And the end of this run of the classic Titans. Next up a Titans Special that bridges this run & the "new" direction that starts in Titans #23 in July.
I really liked this version of the classic Titans until this arc. I definitely feel Abnett was told to change his ideas so that DC could set up the "new" direction for the team.
At least we got some type of an ending even though it was disappointing.

Spectacular Spider-Man #303: Script by Chip Zdarsky. Pencils by Joe Quinones.
Present day Peter goes up against the Green Goblin from the past. The team Of Peter, Teresa & JJJ wrap up their trip to the past but leave behind some consequences...
This arc into the past has been fun. I guess we will see what problems may pop up in the present because of this adventure.
7/10.

Flash #45: Script by Joshua Williamson. Art by Christian Duce.
An interlude issue between the Grodd arc & Flash War.
Finally Iris "meets" Wally I & has her memories of him restored. A really nice issue that ends with Wally I remembering everything including Bart Allen! (@mrjupiter)
Yes! The only thing that would have made that last page perfect? If Jay Garrick had been shown too... Really looking forward to Flash War.

Mighty Thor #706: Written by Jason Aaron. Art by Russell Dauterman.
The conclusion Of Jane's story as Thor.
We see Jane at the Gates of Valhalla. We see the aftermath as Old Asgard is cleaned up & the process of rebuilding begins. We see Odinson deciding to become Thor again.
This was an epic story told by Aaron. The gods of Asgard are in awe of Jane's bravery & courage. This issue was so well done & touching in paying tribute to a mere mortal woman who was worthy to become the Goddess of Thunder.
9/10.

Archie #30: Script by Mark Waid & Ian Flynn. Art by Audrey Mok.
The gang prepares for the Spring Dance. Archie messes everything up as usual. Jughead saves the day. Reggie is a jerk. Veronica goes with Betty to support her emotionally & physically. Moose & Midge go as a couple. And Reggie plots to "redeem" himself by diverting the negative attention away from him. This involves the Blossoms...
Waid has hit on a formula that mixes classic Archie tropes while making it modern but not too dark. Part of the reason it works is the beautiful art by Mok.
This was yet another issue that I really liked...

The Terrifics #3: Script by Jeff Lemire. Art by Joe Bennett & 3 inkers.
The conclusion of the first arc.
The good: Lemire clarifies that the team has to stay within one mile of each other because of their exposure to dark matter. It sets up an interesting dynamic. I like the way he portrays all the characters except Mr Terrific.
The bad: a fill in artist by issue 3? Also not liking the "Bat Jerk lite" version of Mr Terrific.
I really like the concept of this team. But already I am concerned with the revolving door of artists that started with this issue. Not a good way to launch a new title.
6/10.

X-O Manowar #14: Script by Matt Kindt. Art by Ariel Olivetti.
Aric returns to Earth. And finds things have changed in his 18 month absence...
Kindt concluded Aric's story on the planet Gorin last issue. With this issue he returns Aric to Earth for new adventures & new conflicts.
An interlude issue with some great art & decent concepts to set up some new storylines.
8/10.

Archie 30: Great issue as the spring dance begins. This is one of the most cleverly drawn comics--so many gags as Archie gets ready for the dance and I loved how he pretty much destroyed his own band! Can't wait to see what Reggie is going to do. Loved seeing Betty and Veronica going stag but together as best friends. I also liked the scene of Mr. Weatherbee reminiscing about dances of the past. My favorite part of the issue? Moose and Midge! I could have read an entire issue about them and their blossoming romance. Also caught the clever panel of Toni and Moose's date--looks like Toni swooped in! All this plus a Josie and the Pussycats cameo! Excellent issue 10/10

The Terrifics #3: Seems like the team is slowly coming together, whether they like it or not (Plastic Man seems to be on board with being a team). Good banter between Metamorpho and Plastic Man. I feel bad for Phantom Girl, not being able to become solid and missing her home, along with wondering if her parents are alive. The pages in the middle that featured Metamorpho, if that was really him (and had nothing to do with the story so far) makes me interested to know where that bit is going. I wonder if there will be some story regarding his origin, especially since he was speaking in hieroglyphics! So far, the weak link for me is Mr. Terrific. I agree with md62, he is coming across like Batman. I liked the scene with Rex and Sapphire, Simon telling Java to clean everything up, and the War Wheel! I haven't thought of it since I read about it in an 80s issue of Blackhawk! I usually like Joe Bennett's art, but I think the team of inkers hurt his art. I see they were trying to keep it looking like Ivan Reis, but that didn't quite work. Jeff Lemire is doing an excellent job with the cast (except Mr. Terrific for me). 8/10

I think Plastic Man desperately wants to be accepted. And I always thought him & Metamorpho would be an interesting & volatile mix.
And I like Bennett's art. I agree the 3 different inkers did not help. My concern is DC couldn't even have Reis finish the first 3 issue arc. And upcoming solicits have fill ins already scheduled. Evan "Doc" Shaner is drawing #4 & #5 as planned. I knew Shaner was taking over the book with #4 since Reis was moving over to Superman. But we have Bennett again for #6. And Bennett can't keep filling in because he is the penciller on the new Hulk series starting in June.

Based on md62 Reviews of Mera ... I'm a fan of Mera and I'm going to pick up Mera #1 and see whether I've liked it or not. I'm giving it a decent shot.

Based on md62 Reviews of Mera ... I'm a fan of Mera and I'm going to pick up Mera #1 and see whether I've liked it or not. I'm giving it a decent shot. If you like Orm the Ocean Master then it is worth picking up since the title is as much about him as it is about Mera.
