I like Alan as the GL of the 1940's. Hal as the GL of the 60's. John as GL of the 70's. And Kyle as GL in the 90's.
Never liked Guy. I have not read anything that had Simon r Jessica in it.

I remember enjoying the first 10 or 20 issues of Peter Bagge's Hate quite a lot but can't recall any specific storylines, it's been so long.

Any chance you could leave a brief comment about why you like these series, rather than just spamming images? The OP was looking for good 90's material. Comics is a visual medium, that's why I like to use pictures. Covers sell comics. Some people on the boards have not been exposed to what I'm showing them. I don't have the time I'd like to devote to describing these and post these here as a way of wetting the appetite of those seeing that not all 90's material was crap. I bought a lot of stuff in the 90's; probably more than I ever had up to that point in my live. Lots of it was crap, but there was good stuff too like I'm showing.

Some people on the boards have not been exposed to what I'm showing them. That's very true and I haven't seen over 75% of the covers that you've posted so far. I've didn't buy much comics during that time frame because of work. I'm quite impressed with your vast array of comics that you shared ... Thanks for doing that.

David Michelinie - Rai What's the concept on Rai. What's your opinion on this series? Rai is the protector of Japan, from a long line of protectors. The year is 4001 and Japan is a floating island in Earth orbit in a virtual paradise where the A. I., Father, runs everything with Rai as his right hand man always there to protect and do whatever Father asks of him. Most of Japan agrees with this lifestyle, but some want independence to go back to the older ways, so there's internal friction, spies, questions of artificial intelligence, bionics, humanity, politics, etc. Rai goes from being his unquestioning servant until he eventually unearths some things that don't jibe, and eventually Rai turns against Father. Great series

This is one of the rare books that I've liked in that ERA of Comics ... Great Writing, Art, and whole nine yards!

I've said many times that Azrael is one of the best new characters.
Definitely deserves his own title again.
The right team could make him red hot IMO.

This whole thread makes me feel like a kid in a candy store slash novelty store slash prank shop
If I had to pen down a favorite, it would be Garth Ennis' tenure on Judge Dredd, particularly "A Clockwork Pineapple" and "Emerald Isle" So many dark and funny stories came out of that and would lead him to Hitman and Preacher

Tarzan by Malibu Comics Was another favorite of mine hondobrode and the reason for that it's the stories that led me to it and the art is excellent and I didn't pay much attention to it because the stories were real and spot on the character of Tarzan. How I've came across it -- in my journey(s) to Vancouver B.C. and I've became good friends with the owner and they carry this comics and every three months I go there and collect three issues of this book and take home and bought other stuff as well.

That's part of why I post, is A. comics are a visual medium, and B. to show what some of the better stuff was from back then. A high percentage of what I post is DC / Vertigo or indies, as that was mostly what I was buying at the time. Marvel was at their low point until the later 90's when Joe Q turned the ship around with his excellent Marvel Knights imprint.

I didn't follow most of Malibu's stuff, and I'm not the biggest Tarzan fan, but this series really struck me, and I think it was this issue in particular that caught my eye. Good stuff Mecha !
