SO AT&T U-verse is having one of their free premium channel weekends, all the subscription channels are free for the weekend, including the on-demand stuff, so after sampling the Sonic Highways stuff on Itunes radio I decided towatch what was available of the actual episodes on demand on HBO. Only watched 2 eps so far-Chicago and Washington DC but I am loving what I see, Exposing me to stuff I hadn't heard before. The DC episode introduced me to stuff from the DC punk scene and the go-go movement and I have been exploring that-Bad Brains, Ian MacKaye and a lot of Inner Ear stuff, plus Chuck Brown and Troubled Funk form the go-go scene. Amazing rhythm stuff from those go-go bands!
