*ahem* Naked Raygun -- no plural. Quite possibly my favorite U.S. punk band ever. Their 3/7/91 gig at the Antenna Club in Memphis might be the best show I've ever attended, even though by then original, brilliant guitarist John Haggerty had departed for the (intermittently excellent) Pegboy.
Speaking of Cheap Trick, NR's set list from that show (I grabbed a copy off the stage afterward, then got to talk to lead singer Jeff Pezzati for several minutes -- cool guy) shows they were supposed to cover "Surrender" (a song I happen to love) during their encore, but I don't believe it happened. *sigh*
Saw Pegboy in 11/94 at a small club in Little Rock a day after, IIRC, I saw the Stones at War Memorial Stadium. Pegboy were, of course, better.

Otherwise, more early '80s anarchopunk -- a CD of demos by the Scottish band Alternative.
I know it sounds elitist, & no doubt it is, but people who sit around & listen to top-40 artists & such all the time ... I just can't comprehend it.

Sorry Dan, fixed it for you, could have sworn Grohl was using the plural but I was listening in the background as I was working on other things, so Grohl's intros tended to filter into the background. -M

Maybe he did. Could've, I guess, momentarily confused them with Texas' far more obscure Stickmen with Rayguns.

I'm a huge Sheena Easton Fan
These two songs are my favorites and one of them is a James Bond Theme ...
Modern Girl (1980)
For Your Eyes Only (1981)

Have you ever listened to the rest of the album that comes from, Chicago VI? Lot of good songs on that one. It's the only Chicago album I've heard all the way through, but because I think it's a good one, I've always meant to try some of their other earlier records.

On a bit of a nostalgia kick the last few days. After hearing Supper's Ready on BBC radio's Freak Zone last week it's been stuck in my head, so I've been listening to Genesis's Foxtrot album lately. Forgot how good it was:

No, the only two songs I know from that album are this one and "Just You 'n' Me". I like a bunch of their other songs though. I thought "In Terms of Two" was also a minor hit, but maybe I'm just remembering it as a catchy song from that album: If you like their sound, I highly recommend listening to the entire album.

Funny, I remember Feeling Stronger Every Day as the bigger hit, locally. Maybe there was some regional variation.
My other favourite song from that record, which I think I posted once on the old board in response to some question or topic of discussion, is:
Love the interplay amongst the piano, the bass, the guitar, the percussion, and vocal as they all join in, almost one by one. I especially love the melodic runs on the bass guitar, so characteristic of the pop music of that era in general.

Yeah, "Something in this City" takes a few listens to sink in, definitely not single material.
