THAT is a wonderful story!! And Black Sabbath! Love them, too. When I was a teenager, I had a boyfriend who was a bassist in a local cover band, and they wanted me to sing NIB for them, only they could not get me into the bar (I was only 18). Which is probably for the best, anyway, because I was not ready to sing in front of people like that. NIB! (Oh, yeah!) Hah! That is too funny. My wife and I are headed to Vegas next month to see Black Sabbath on what is purported to be their ultimate tour. We'll take some pictures for you. In spite of your self-consciousness, my wife and I both wish we could have heard your interpretation of NIB.

Also, thank you, to you and your wife, very much, but my voice is sooooo out of practice, and honestly, it wasn't THAT much to begin with. I wasn't the girl who got offered the choir solos in school. I blended well with others, but I did not have that special something about my voice that made me stand out. But, traditional choir music never really was much of my thing. I can shoot you a PM about Byrne and Newsom, if you'd like, that way I'm not bogging down this thread with my ramblings about music.

Is the album that Bang A Gong have similar songs to it? Love that guitar lick in that song. Those always make a song addicting to listen to. See also Beast of Burden and Fame. Opening track on Electric Warrior: But this is one of my faves. It's soooo Marc. I hadn't listened to Electric Warrior in YEARSSSS because I had lost my disc. But then I found it, but I never put it on my computer (then onto my MP3 player) until last night. My CDs live in a drawer in my night stand, a CD shelf in my room, a shelf in my livingroom, my car, and my purse. So, they're everywhere. It's no wonder I can hardly find any of them. I was looking for my copy of Joanna Newsom's Milk-Eyed Mender CD a while back, went out to look in my car for it. I didn't find it there, but I found my John Denver and Muppets Christmas CD, a ton of my Elvis Costello CDs, some Harry Nilsson CDs, and a David Byrne CD I had already ordered another copy of because I thought it was lost forever. It was like Christmas, though. I ended up ordering another copy of Milk-Eyed Mender, only to find the CD a few weeks later in my night stand drawer while looking for my Van Morrison CDs.

Opening track on Electric Warrior Great opening track on what I consider a perfect album. Of interest to comic fans, Bolan name-checks Doctor Strange in this song, and apparently interviewed Stan Lee later in his (Bolan's) too-short career. I need to track that down.

When you do, please share! On a somewhat similar note, I always appreciated Bowie's comic references. The two I recall the most are in "Uncle Arthur" and "Oh, You Pretty Things".

I've been listening to Highlights from Bizet's "Carmen" with Maria Callas.
I played it with my nephew in the car and he actually liked it! (Though when I later gave him the choice of listening to Blue Oyster Cult "Fire of Unknown Origin," he went with BOC. He knows most of the words to "Soul Survivor.")

I've been listening to A Hard Day's Night by The Beatles, but its' time for something more uptempo.
Mormel, have you listened to the rock cover of Blue Monday from the late 90s? If you like harder rock at all, it's a very good cover.

I am terribly ashamed to admit that I have NO New Order in my music collection. I'll have to correct this.

I am terribly ashamed to admit that I have NO New Order in my music collection. I'll have to correct this. if you don't go for the classic 80's stuff (which is all very good, tho Bernard can't sing at all. . off key on "Perfect Kiss" like Morrissey is on most Smiths songs). . LOL anyways.. if you go for later stuff. .IMO, the best thing they ever did was "Get Ready" in early 2000's -- with this single:

I have decided that T. Rex's Zinc Alloy and the Hidden Riders of Tomorrow has just about everything in life that I need, listening-wise.
