Cool!

"When the Lights Go Out" by Oingo Boingo.
I wasn't into any New Wave music in high school (my city was, and still is, a classic rock-type place; we're stuck in the '70s in terms of music, which isn't to say it's bad, but that there is not much cutting edge around here), but when I got to college and started meeting people from other places, I got turned onto bands like Oingo Boingo, The Cure, The Smiths, Joy Division, etc.

I've been listening to XTC's Fossil Fuel: The XTC Singles Collection, a lot lately. Best singles collection I've heard so far next to The Buzzcock's Singles Going Steady.

Any singles collection with "Making Plans for Nigel" gets automatic thumps-ups from me.
Also, the chorus, at least, to "Life Begins at the Hop" can be sung to "Love Will Tear Us Apart," & of course vice versa. You're welcome.

thanks dan. such slapstick tragedy. exercise ball rolling into music stand, falling straight onto deck with dust cover up. Let that be an extremely painful lesson, sir -- no more exercise or even any pretense at same.
