[Calling the evening meal tea and the mid-day meal dinner is mostly a northern thing, but my family on both my Mum and Dad's side is from the south of England going back generations, so lord knows why we use terms more normally associated with the north for those meals. Nearly 40 years of almost nonstop listening to The Fall is the explanation, no doubt.

I had a club sandwich. It was just okay. But boy am I full. The cigar on the way home probably didn't help the stomach settle.

I'm sorry to report that I won't be able to make it across the pond to your funeral. Because you are, of course, dead to me. Besides, come to think of it, probably the ceremony will feature endless loops of Bread tracks.

Supper last night was what breakfast (which I rarely eat, but it was sitting 3 feet from me on my desk here at the office, being irresistible & all) was -- cold cheese pizza & cheese breadsticks from my order Tuesday night at the locally owned pizza place (called, as it happens, The Pizza Place -- clever, but sort of a pain if you're looking on Google, FB, etc.) I really like.
The final remnants will be breakfast/brunch/lunch today.

Last night we had BBQ ribs, collards, and mashed potatoes. Which means I only ate the potatoes and collards. I'm not a BBQ fan. But, tonight, we shall have Subway! Yum! (I feel I should add that the yum is sarcastic, because I really don't want a sandwhich)

But, tonight, we shall have Subway! I'm so sorry. What are you being punished for? (They're perfectly OK ... but that's all they are, IMHO.)

It might have been not eating my dinner last night...or, maybe because I didn't do my homework. But, it most likely is because we're broke and they have 2 dollar subs here. But, yeah, I'm not a huge fan of Subway. I mean, yay...sandwhiches...but, I'll take what I can afford and I am NOT eating at Macdonalds again... Lol

My favorite sandwich chain is Firehouse Subs, but they're a bit pricy compared to Subway. Not that Firehouse's toasted veggie sub isn't worth the $8.50 or whatever it costs, but I'm not a fan of paying that much for a sandwhich, period. We've recently got a Jimmy John's, which is probably closer to Subway in pricing & quality; pretty decent, really.
Main problem with Subway, at least in my case, is probably overfamiliarity. There's one about 3 blocks from me.

There's one about 3 blocks from me. I haven't had a chance to try Firehouse. But, there's one in Jacksonville, about 15 minutes from home. Jimmy John's is there, too, but same for that place, too. I'm glad to have a headsup on prices though! I hate paying so much for sandwhiches, too. But, wow! Same! We don't have much here in maysville, (we finally got a horse hitch out in front of the Piggley-Wiggley lol) but, we have a Subway and it got kinda old, kinda fast. Especially since I can make a sub right there at home.

My chintziness as regard paying much for comics is no secret around here, & it extends (not surprisingly) to food as well. Great thing about the pizza I just polished off the last few slices of is that for $10 & change, I got 4 rather substantial meals. Normally, it would've been more like $15, but one of the two brothers who runs the place didn't like the looks of the cheese sticks, so he didn't charge me ... even though I assured him that I didn't give the slightest damn how they looked, since I knew they'd taste great (as indeed they did). Which would still have been a bargain for the amount of food involved, of course.
