I'm planning on making a trip to the comic book shop this Friday to catch up alot on some comics and I'm curious about Gideon Falls and the new Barrier series.
Which one of the two is really good to get into? I heard Barrier already just came out with issue 3? That's crazy, man

Which one of the two is really good to get into? I heard Barrier already just came out with issue 3? That's crazy, man I read the FCBD issue of Barrier and really liked it. It is a weekly book and is 5 issues long I believe. It is the print version of the second "pay what you want" digital comic that Brian K. Vaughan and Marcos Martin did together (Private Eye was the first), so the material has already been produced and been put out there digitally, the series just collects it in print for the first time (unlike Private Eye that went to deluxe hardcover the first time this one is doing it as single issues first). I picked up #1 and 2 last week but haven't readhtem yet (#1 is an expanded edition of the FCBD issue though). Gideon Falls is by Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino, bit creators I really like, but I haven;t read any of it yet (I was planning on trade waiting it). #3 came out this week as well, I believe, but it is monthly. I've heard it described as a Twin Peaks style horror story. -M

It's a tremendously atmospheric, slow burning horror story that is crazy weird.

Issue 3 wasnt even in yet since I understand its brand new and not every comic shop probably didnt get it in soon enough or whatever.
Oh well I can wait til next month whenever I go to the comic shop. still need to get the new Avengers issue 2 at least along with Regression which I really need to catch up on.

I read the first two issues of Gideon Falls. Great stuff. Looking forward to the rest of the series. Sorrentino's art works really well for the story's tone. I enjoyed their run on Green Arrow, and am glad to see these two working together again.

Just read Gideon Falls #1-3. Enjoyed it quite a bit. Will get to Barrier tonight or tomorrow hopefully. I realized my copies of Gideon Falls #1 and #2 were second printings, so obviously it is selling quite better than anticipated, which is good.
