With a new series set to debut in 2019 I wondered if anyone else might feel nostalgic about this series from the 80s. The new series ThunderCats Roar looks like it's targeted at fans of the popular Teen Titans Go!. Unlike its predecessor the more action oriented anime styled series that aired in 2011-2012.

Not having any affinity for the original 80s series, this is going to be a hard pass for me. Not sure who the target audience for this is, as it looks far too juvenile for people who grew up with the first series, and kids the age of mine have no point of reference to who these characters are.
At least with TTG, I know enough about the characters from the comics to have it be somewhat amusing, and my kids know who Robin is from Lego Batman.

Hm, I dunno. May-be.
I loved the original cartoon, very good. I really enjoyed the more recent show. I thought they took the characters and concepts into great new directions so I was sad to see it get cancelled.

I despise this style of animation.
Why the hell do all of these executives and other big wigs these days think that kids will only respond to the most simplistic, bright and bubbly stuff?
Besides, how many people these days 30 or younger even know who the Thundercats are?
I would assume that bringing back these characters would be in large part to play on the nostalgia factor of early 30-early 40 something’s in addition to bringing in a new, younger crowd.
This does neither IMO.
