Sounds great - as always, Thanks for the info. Looking forward to collecting at least the ST Mego toys well into the future. Glad they're going to come out with so many future waves.
It's interesting that these have been such a hit. I suspect that these new Mego offerings probably have some fans among toy collectors who weren't even born yet when the Mego lines (based on DC & Marvel Super-heroes/Trek/POTA/TV shows, etc.) were initially big back in the 1970's/early '80's. These initial Mego figures were definitely iconic in a way, and definitely transcended the era when they were the most popular. As I mentioned in an older post, the Toyfare mag. (published from around the late '90's - 200X's) focused on Mego figures with the "Twisted Mego Theatre" comic-strip, even though the toys had gotten cancelled years before....

Just got back from Target; the Mego toys have sold exceedingly well since I was last there a couple of weeks ago; the large end-cap where they were has been shrunken, and now there are just a handful of figures on a side shelf (on the pegs). Re: Classic Trek, they only have the Gorn (which I got) & that was it; I saw no sign of Mr. Spock (regular blue uniform). If they don't get more later, I'll have to go online to get these.
Glad these are doing so well; it bodes well for the future of the line.

Glad these are doing so well; it bodes well for the future of the line. The endcap promotion only ran through Sept. 30th, so they were coming off the endcaps whether they sold well or not. Some Targets have moved them into the aisles, some just pulled them off the shelves to wait for the new toy reset for the Christmas season, so it's hard to say how well they sold just because the endcap was taken down. I decided to order online for this wave and save the time and gas of driving a half hour through a construction zone to our closest Targets, and placed the order yesterday. They are due to arrive Saturday sometime. I picked up all 4 14 inch DC figs (Green Lantern, Superman, Batgirl and Poison Ivy), Frankenstein's Monster, Spock and 2 Gorn figures (one to be a Gorn, one for a custom project I am working on). There might be one or two more from wave 2 I pick up for custom fodder (and I am on the fence about the Oz 2-pack), but I have all I want from it for the figures themselves. The Bewitched figure is a great figure, I am just not a fan of Bewitched, but it might make great custom fodder for something (as might the wave 2 Charmed and Charlie's Angels figures). Wave three is due the end of November/beginning of December and I will likely pick up some more from that wave if the conjectured list of figures included is accurate, but the only figure with any kind of official confirmation is a second Kiss figure which they showed Gene's bass axe from as a sneak peak. But I am sure more sneak peaks for wave 2 will start hitting at the end of October to build up excitement for the last release of the year and the last Target exclusive wave. -M

I ordered Superman, Green Lantern, Batgirl, Poison Ivy, Samantha, and Kris yesterday. Hoping to find Frankenstein back online or in store. My Target didn't get the first wave until several weeks after the release date. I found my first round of Megos at a Target a couple of hours away.

Good to know about the endcaps; yes, I thought it was strange that they had so little figures this week as opposed to just a couple of weeks ago - they probably did move some in the back, in preparation for another reset. Looking forward to seeing what the "big" Mego Target display looks like, as we get closer to the holidays.
I checked on the Target site (even though I don't typically order product like this online), and noticed that the Sulu is up to $17.99 (from $14.99). I can attest that Sulu was harder to find than the other figures; I regret not getting this character the first time I saw this. Conversely, Chekov was easier to find.
I wonder if Mego will ever re-release figures in these initial waves at a future date?! Other toy companies do this all the time (i.e., re-release popular figures that some collectors never got the first time around), but, if they do so, the packaging will typically be modified - at least slightly.

Picked up Poison Ivy, Green Lantern and the Wizard of Oz two-pack in the wild. Ended up order Superman and Batgirl from target.com because I wanted to order the Funko Batman '66 box and it was just easier to get all of them together.

I spoke too soon re: my last post; I finally got Sulu @ a Target I don't usually go to. The Mr. Spock (regular outfit on card) figure seems to be the toughest to find (at least for me) @ brick & mortar Targets right now - I haven't seen a trace of this figure @ the two Targets I've been to this past week. No surprise, though - Spock is probably the #1 most popular Star Trek character, and a very popular pop culture character in general, period.

My big box o'Mego arrived from Target this afternoon... Batgirl's other gauntlet is in the bottom of the box, it must have slipped off her arm, but it is an easy fix once I open it up to put it on display. -M

Great score - Thanks for the pics. Those 14" DC figures look nice, but, again, I really with they were the standard Mego 8".....

Great score - Thanks for the pics. Those 14" DC figures look nice, but, again, I really with they were the standard Mego 8"..... If wishes were fishes... Mattel has the license for mass market DC figures in all scales up to 12 inches. Figures Toy Company has the license for 3 3/4, 8 inch and 12 inch DC figures in the gift shop/boutique market. Neither is going to give up the license anytime soon, so if Mego is going to do anything with DC it has to be in a scale outside those. Mattel is the bigger obstacle of the two when it comes to Mego though, as Mego is operating in the mass market and not the boutique/gift market realm. We can wish all we want, it's not happening, just as we can wish for Marvel or Star Wars form Mego but Hasbro, who hold the master license for both lines, is having none of it so we will get none of it. That;s the reality of the situation and it's not likely to change any time in the near or distant future. -M

Very true & completely understandable. And, now that I think about this, there was actually a small line of 12" Mego figures based on DC (and some Marvel) superheroes that came out in the late 1970's. I never had any of these, but do remember them: www.megomuseum.com/wgsh/12/index.htmlThese are not too far off in scale from the current 14" DC superheroes.

I found Frankenstein is store, my target.com order is scheduled to arrive this week!
They had 2 Frankensteins, several Kris from Charlie's Angels, a few Samanthas, 3 or 4 Wizard of Oz, and none of the 12 inch figures except Wave 1.

It appears some Targets have put out the third wave of Megos way early and some are hitting ebay already. Among the early releases seen on store shelves is the Mirror Mirror Sulu Uhura 2-pack... Romulan Commander... The Cowardly Lion and the Face of the Screaming Werewolf (i.e. a non-Universal Lon Chaney werewolf figure) -M
