In celebration of our community's fourth year and of all the great members, discussions, and moments that have made this community what it is, as well as in memory of our beloved missing comrade, Jim Zimmerman (known to most as "Captain Jim"), we bring you this fourth annual Jamie Awards.
How it works:
A total of ten categories will honor members and threads for their contributions to the community between April 30th, 2017 at 9:22pm EST (the third anniversary of the first ever post made at the CCF) and April 30, 2018 at 9:21pm EST (one year later). I apologize for being a month and a half late in getting this event up and running, but better late than never (I hope!).
This Saturday (June 16) two categories will be opened up for nominations. For each category, members will be invited to nominate (not vote upon) one person/thread, including a detailed explanation justifying their choices (please note that, if your nominee wins, what you write in your explanation is what we use in the actual award thread, so please put thought/care into it). Winners from previous years can be nominated again.
Any nomination that is seconded by another member will be included in the final voting round of the event. Each member gets one nomination and one second for each event category.
Every three days, new categories will be opened for nomination, and the previous ones will be closed.
Voting will then begin on Sunday, July 1st, and will close on July 5th at 11:59pm EST.

The Professor Xavier Award: Best discussion starter
June 19-21
Favorite Beyond the Back Issues Thread
The Brother Power the Geek Award: Funniest member
June 22-24
Favorite Fan Fiction or Fan Art piece
The Krypto Award: Friendliest member
June 25-27
Favorite Review Thread
The Uatu Award: Most knowledgeable member
June 28-30
The Jasper Sitwell Award: new member whose activity has most benefited the community
The Captain Jim Zimmerman Award for best overall member who most exemplifies the spirit of the CCF
July 1-July 5
Voting!
So now is the time to start trekking through old threads, rekindling old memories, and making some tentative decisions
It's also a time to reflect upon the positive. This is not an opportunity to nominate others sarcastically, get competitive, or put others down. When enough people participate, countless members and threads end up being publicly recognized and appreciated, regardless of who wins. This should be a time of affirmation, not competition.

A special thanks to the members and staff who actively participated in the creation, development, and design of the Jamie Awards.
