I think I've changed my mind- I think there should be a separate forum category for review threads. There are so many in the general comic discussion that you can't swing a dead cat without hitting one. And maybe if they had their own subthread, the members would be more diligent in updating them. What do you think ? shaxper

I agree that a separate forum category of the review threads would be nice and easier to navigate through and finding reviews you are most likely to want to read. Some of the reviews I adore digging through and reading again while some others carry little interest for me. What if the left side Review Column instead of listing threads was an updating link like the right side for currently running threads? And then inside the Classics Comics Forum Discussion drop-down there be a Review Forum listing for all of the threads or there be a separate connect/drop-down like there is for the Usagi Dojo area?

Not ignoring you guys. Just awaiting further community input. We've gone back and forth on this one since (I believe) Day 2 of the site's existence. The cons are less exposure/visibility for review threads if they aren't in the main section, where any casual viewer might stumble upon them. Also, review threads can still easily get buried in their own section. We currently have a reviewer with close to 20 active review threads who often updates 5 to 10 of them per day.
But I am always interested in where the community consensus falls.

What if the left side Review Column instead of listing threads was an updating link like the right side for currently running threads? Love the idea, but the coding isn't possible. There are some limitations on what we can do with proboards software. A long while back, community consensus was very clear that subcategories were a site navigation nuisance to be avoided at all costs. In the case of the Usagi Dojo, there was just no other way.

I would prefer a separate forum category for review threads.

I would prefer a separate forum category for review threads. It would make our forum must easier to navigate ...

I'm not sure I really care one way or the other. I think if the board had more traffic then it might help keep the review threads from being buried as easily. But the traffic here is not overwhelming.
But I'm coolio with whatever you doolio.

From my past experience with forums, more sections means people start visiting only the sections they like... so it could certainly cause less traffic. OTOH, people that don't like reviews could be overwhelmed, or good discussions could get buried before they run their course if they drop off the front too fast.
I'd be fine with giving it a try and seeing if we like it... it's not TOO terrible a task to set it up, IIRC.
