Batman is one of the most animated characters around with multiple versions existing over the decades. So which cartoon Batman is your's? You can choose 2 since there is likely whichever version was on television at the time you were growing up and now with DVD's you have the ability to viewing before and after!
My 1st choice is obvious: Batman the Animated Series. So perfectly captures everything about Bat's world with a style and vision all it's own based on creating a Gotham City that combines the old/new in art deco/futuristic visualizations for a dark, secretive world of the night for our favorite Bat to live in. Kevin Conroy set the tone for every voice work of Batman ever since that is imitated and even into the live-action movies. The atmosphere and the characterization's are amazing and captivating. The voice actors are superbly cast and to this day many of the "voices" I hear inside my head when reading any Batman comic book are those from this series. And Mark Hamill's Joker is so awesome. Truly a milestone in many ways.
2nd Choice goes to: Superfriends Batman! Being the version I grew up with every Saturday morning from a wee little bugger on into my teen years through high school. This was the commercialized version that pretty much was sold everywhere with Bat's in the blue/grey suit and his iconic yellow oval.
Special Recognition to Batman: Brave and the Bold for it's sense of fun and lunacy.

I'm pretty firmly convinced that Batman: The Animated Series is the single best television cartoon series ever.
A close second would be Batman: The Brave and the Bold which is about as fun as any series has a right to be.

Love, love, love B:TAS and agree with Slam's assessment but B:B&B speaks to this hardcore Haney/Aparo fan like no other animated super-hero ever has. I hate Super Friends in all its incarnations (except the comic--that I enjoy).

They could honestly be 1A and 1B for me. Batman Animated was just so groundbreaking and influential that I give it a slight edge most of the time. But B:TBatB is the most fun any cartoon has been since Rocky & Bullwinkle.

Its a tie for me for which I like best. I was too young for Batman: TAS when it first came out but had vague memory of the intro I guess from seeing repeats,, then having rewatched the dvds I say it was my favourite. I think I can just appreciate the style now and the stories. Batman Beyond was more my age group and I do have vague memories of yelling at my brother to tell him it was on tv. Don't have any on dvd, must try to find them as think will enjoy the nostalgia of that too

Batman and Robin 1968
I grew up watching this cartoon and along with the Super Friends -- this version is more attune to my liking and later on the Batman, The Animated Series were great, but did not had that appeal of the 1968 version. I'm a sucker for the old and the retro and I would put the 1968 version in 1st place, the Super Friends and the Animated Series -- a tied for 2nd place.
The Batman Beyond and the Brave and the Bold were good -- but didn't had that appeal that I'm looking for.
The others -- I don't remember them at all that good -- The Batman 2004, I never seen it.

I can remember seeing the Batman with Robin in 1968 but cannot recall much of it since I have never seen it since. Waiting on Amazon to deliver this week the DVD so I can go back to the past. Remember more of the New Adventures of Batman with Adam West/Burt Ward reuniting for the cartoon as it was replayed for several more years on Saturdays. Sadly most of what I remember of it was how annoying Bat-Mite is.

You set the poll to vote for only one even though you said to choose two.
As for me. Batman TAS is tops with me, but I have a fondness for the New Adventures of Batman from '77 as I watched that a lot as a kid. I haven't seen it since, so that fondness could disappear upon seeing it, but I remember it fondly.

But from what I've seen of other Saturday morning cartoons from the mid to late 70s my gut tells me they're likely very bad.

Is there a way to edit the Poll question itself? Technical assist please or do I need to remove the poll question and recreate? Thank you

Batman:TAS remains the best. It embodies everything that I love about the character(s).
Batman Beyond is a close second for me. Terry is a hero in his own mold and seeing how his methods and attitude differs and contrasts with an elderly Bruce's ideals remains entertaining as is the future setting, new villains and characters. The Return of the Joker film remains one of the my all-time favorite cartoons.
The Batman (if that's the one that was on CN, I believe), that one was okay, a different type of dynamic and look but it had its' moments.
Ah, Superfriends. Fun as a kid, trippy to watch now. I kinda miss the days where all you had to do to immobilize Batman & Robin was to take away their utility belts.
As for Brave and the Bold, never watched it really.

Just two?
There was only The Batman/Superman Hour, aka The Adventures of Batman, when I was young. I got to see those cartoons as they were rerun, introducing me to the Caped Crusaders. I then got to see them on the New Scooby Doo Movies and then the Super Friends. That was soon followed by Adam West and Burt Ward voicing the Dynamic Duo, on The New Adv. of Batman. Then, finally, came Batman, The Animated Series, where the mystery and adventure of the comics got live on the screen, without the heavy restrictions that affected New Adv. and the Super Friends. Brave and the Bold was the last I watched. Each had strengths and weaknesses.
Adv of Batman-this was before network restrictions became so onerous, so there were fights and villains. However, the short duration made the plots rather basic and Ted Knight voicing all the male villains and Jane Wbb voicing all the females made for a bit of sameness., Still, the pluses outweighed the minuses.
Scooby Doo presented two nice little full length adventures, allowing real detective work and some action, without punching. It did require more comedy and less menace, though.
The Super Friends varied greatly, from season reboot to reboot. First series has some nice mysteries and ecologically themed shows, while there are almost no actual villains; only misguided individuals. I never had a problem with the Junior Super Friends; but, others did. Challenge of the Super friends was the best, by far; but, conflict was weakened by banning all violence. The others varied; but, Galactic Guardians offered us "The Fear", with an actual telling of Batman's origin; the only real one done on tv.
BTAS was perfect, with excellent stories, animation and voice work. It captured the spirit of classic tales and adapted several. My only negative would be the need to use Batman 2 designs for Penguin and the poor use of him, until the New Adv. season. Mask of the Phantasm is still the best Batman feature.
Justice League continued what BTAS had done (and Superman TAS) and added an interesting twist, with a romance with Wonder Woman (of a sort).
Brave and the Bold succeeded in mixing the humor of the 66 tv series and the lighter Silver Age tone, with some Bronze Age global adventure and modern age sagas. it also shined a spotlight on several areas of the DCU, including Kamandi, Detective Chimp, Ace the Bathound, Plastic Man and the Freedom Fighters.
Batman Beyond was an interesting variation, though a bit to beholding to Akira. Love the theme song, though. I did think it struggled for great villains, for much of it.

It's clearly not as good as B:TAS, but Batman Beyond is a close 2nd for me. I loved the mood and the themes, and though Terry was a great successor, and I there was a good mix of new characters and visits to old friends.
I'm a sucker for a good future universe, though.
