Brujas is witches. "Stories of Witches"? What is the bruja, ha? Thorry. Cuentos de Brujas originally started out featuring reprints of Harvey's Witches' Tales series, so that's the story behind the series' title Later in CdB's run when those Witches' Tales stories were exhausted, it then switched to reprinting stories from Atlas/Marvel's Journey Into Mystery (as in CdB #184, pictured in Mister Spaceman 's post), while retaining its original CdB title.

Here's wishing a full recovery. I'm thinking the high altitude would've been a trigger. You can have this potential and have no idea you have it. It's even been set off by amusement park rides and powerful elevators.

I was recently reading a book that had profiles of comic book creators from the past and it had an interesting bunch of little facts. Al Plastino of Superman fame in the 50-60's , was hired by United Features Syndicate to draw an inventory of Peanuts strips because they were in the midst of negotiations with Charles Shultz and they feared that he would walk.

That was common in those days. The latest issue of Criminal by Ed Brubaker tells a thinly disguised story of Stan Drake doing Rip Kirby strips while King was negotiating with Alex Raymond. Drake was Raymond's assistant at the time.

Maybe it was common , and it's business after all but my point is more that Shultz' legacy might not be what it is if he was just one of the artists on the worlds famous Peanuts strip.

Or you know, he could be like Chester Gould, Alex Raymond, Mort Walker and other strip creators whose legacy was cemented by their work on the strips they created even though others worked on them after they stopped creating the strips. -M PS-how is this thread different from Comic Tidbits?

I doubt Pastino, or anybody else could have made Peanuts the great strip it was for so long. Shultz would have gone on to create something else of worth. Like Caniff or Foster did (he started on Tarzan)

I had a Mod combine them.

At the risk of being "that guy": It's Charles Schulz.
Plastino ghosted Nancy for a while (maybe not ghosted, 'cause he signed them) and said it was a lot harder to get Bushmiller's style right than to draw Superman.

Apparently red tested very well in the Italian comic book market.

I don’t get weird when someone corrects me. Besides, I can blame it on the spellcheck.

I don’t know if it looks awful, or my eyes are used to seeing a non red Batman.
