What are some of the best Golden Age horror comic titles? So many of them have amazing covers but which ones have some of the best stories?

Well, first, if you're talking classic pre-code horror, it's more atom age than golden age.
As far as interiors, it's probably obvious to say EC--there's good art and stories in some if the other lines, but ECs are the only one where you have a close to 100% chance of all stories having good-to-excellent art and batter than average stories.
Harvey, Atlas, Standard, etc., have some good stories, but it's more like one story per issue.
EDIT: Also, just because it happens on the cover, doesn't mean it happens on the inside. This is true of EC as well.

You might want to check out this book... that gives a pretty good overview of pre-code horror comics. I stumbled upon it in our local library but it is a fairly recent release and still in print I believe. -M
